I understand that the side is still a WIP (as per the hair not being there), but I personally think that the walking looks unnatural. A way you can do this is by distinguishing the two legs, so that the player/viewer knows which leg is out in front at a given time. Also, because the sprite has two legs above the ground at all times when walking from side view, it looks less like walking. A way this can be avoided is by having 3 frames, one of which is the sprite pausing with both feet on the ground, then switching the feet. This can be observed on the sprite from Pokemon FireRed. Oh yeah, and looking at other Pokemon player sprites to see how they make it look natural is very helpful.
