Things were getting tense. Wolf’s monster was showing a few of its true colors, and Wolf was pretty mad, though at what, Brazen wasn’t sure. He’d backed up against a tree, with his hands raised in surrender. Wolf didn’t seem to get the message. While Wolf growled something, Brazen searched his friend’s eyes for something, anything that could get Acwulf Hamilton back in control. The full moon peeked over the horizon, and Brazen barely had time to swear mentally before Wolf shifted - well, /shifting/ wasn’t exactly the right word. Shifting was done seamlessly, one second human, next second something else. This was torture - Brazen knew that from the multiple times Wolf had described it. When the full moon came up, Wolf transformed into a werewolf - not his gentle wolf he called on when he was using his powers in general, but a fierce monster, just like the ones of legends. As Wolf snarled at a startled Brazen, he shifted into the first animal that came to mind - strangely, a raven. He made a sort of strangled /caw/ and saw something in Wolf’s angry eyes shift. Something of his friend was back in control. Brazen the raven swallowed nervously, then cawed again, stronger this time. Wolf gasped, and Brazen fluttered over to perch on his wolf friend’s shoulder. Wolf transformed back to his human form, and Brazen fluttered down and shifted back to human as well in front of the panting werewolf. Brazen placed a hand on Wolf’s shoulder and met his eyes. “You good now?" Wolf nodded shakily. “Yeah. Thanks, Brazen.”
This was something I thought up recently. I read that ravens and wolves worked together in the wild to catch prey, so I thought /Why not?/ and came up with the idea that Shifters could help werewolves with their monsters if they shifted into ravens. This scene may or may not actually happen, I’m not sure yet, but if it does, it would happen sometime in the third book (yes, that will be a thing) Anyways, enjoy this scene! Show of hands in the comments, who ships Aczen? (Brazen x Wolf)
