i think i’m moving to an art account. let me clarify: i have absolutely NOTHING against the aes comm. it’s just a bunch of really nice, kind people supporting each other and making visually pleasing content. i love the aes comm and everybody involved with it, and i’m really grateful that i got the chance to meet all of the AMAZING people that i did while i was a part of that group. however, lately i’ve been starting to feel like it’s not right for me. the aes comm has a very rigid and specific set of criteria that you have to fit in order to be considered a valid member — and there’s nothing wrong with that. it would be the same with pretty much any group, like a fraternity/sorority, or a theater troupe. i just feel like the art community might be easier to fit into, and provide a wider variety of options for me. i am — and i can’t stress this enough — weird. you probably wouldn’t have guessed that from the way i interact online, right? that’s because i make a very sincere effort to hide the fact that i am a) a theater kid, b) a 70s and 80s new wave music enthusiast, c) willing to infodump about mythology at any given moment, and d) gay as hell. i feel like the aes comm is not so much a place for people who like to live outside of the mainstream, which is the ultimate reason for my moving. i hope you’ll understand my decision, and know that if we were friends here / on @wonderinqq, we can still be friends no matter where i go. unless you’re a serial killer or something. this isn’t goodbye. i’m just expanding my horizons. <3
