This is my first ever game with real, working A.I that can choose what punch to throw every single half second. It has been quite a journey, and there have been a ton of hiccups along the way. I started this huge project in July (near the time I posted my teaser project) and it has taken me all the way until now, October 30th, to release this. Now, when compared to other big scratchers, my project may not be overwhelmingly cool, but it has taken a crap ton of effort to put together. I needed to figure out how to make A.I, which took me about a week to figure out how to do. I had to make animations for and code 2 different characters, both with their own hit detection, A.I, move set, and more. I needed to find reliable ways to detect when a player should be knocked to the floor. I had to find the perfect song for each section of the game. And a lot more. I want to thank all of you for your patience in this incredible feat, I couldn't have done it without your immense support. So, without further ado, I present to you the long-awaited sequel to Jake's Boxing Class: THE FIGHTERS OF JAKE! enjoy :)
"R" for a cross (right-handed straight punch), "J" for a jab, "U" for an uppercut and "space" for a block (make sure to hold spacebar for as long as you want to block!!). Total Project Time: about 3 months, 3 weeks If you're wondering why I didn't add any saxophone music of my own, it's because although I originally said I would compose some music for the game I really couldn't get the right sound I was looking for and ultimately decided to call off the composing until I got a little better with the saxophone. And yes, I decided to add a little easter egg: every song found in this project, EVERY SINGLE ONE, is from the Rocky films. I thought it would be a nice touch. All songs featured (in order of appearance): John Cafferty - Hearts on Fire (Rocky IV) Bill Conti - The Final Bell (Rocky II) Bill Conti - Redemption (Rocky II) (win theme) Survivor - Burning Heart (Rocky IV) (lose theme)
