It was a peaceful morning. Most of the crew was already awake. Some were eating breakfast, others preparing for another long day out in the unknown. Ace was still asleep. He was usually the one who woke up the earliest, but he felt enervated. Suddenly, a small pink crewmate dashed into his room. “Ace! The captain said that we’re heading to a new planet! Wake up, wake up, wake upppppp!” She said, prodding him and bouncing around him energetically. “Let me sleep, Cherry,” he groaned. Cherry started tickling him. He giggled, “Okay, okay, one sec.” Ace gently shoved Cherry off himself and got up. She bounced out of his room. Probably going to wake the others as usual, he guessed. If they’re still asleep, that is. He walked out his room and went to find Mary. She was usually wide awake at this time, so he went to the Cafeteria first. It was bustling with chattering crewmates, but she was nowhere in sight. That’s weird, he thought. Then he peeked into Medbay, Upper Engine, Reactor, you name it. Ace was starting to feel like something was wrong. But what? Finally he went to check her room. When he caught sight of a silhouetted figure in the hallway, he felt a wave of panic spread through him. ~To be continued~
