There once was a girl. She only stood in the background observing others' behavior. She rarely talked. Every time anyone approached her, she only moved farther into the setting. "Why?" asked a boy, "why must you hide in the background instead of enjoying and playing with the others? Why must you stay silent? Why?" The girl turned around and curled into a ball. Whispering, she turned around, "Why? Why? All you ever ask is why? I am observing the behaviors of others; while you are speaking your gibberish, I understand you by watching you. When you talk, you interrupt and do not understand others." The rain pattered harder on the window as other children ran to the girl. "Why?" other children ask. The girl crawled back into a ball, almost as if her scales were showing as she crawled away like a worm. "Why?" a little girl asked, "You must play with the children to have fun." The shy girl whispered, growling, "For I am shy, and I do not need anyone."
