Excerpts from an anonymous dracology professor's discovery journal. 1. [Image - Plumed Runner & Her Firstborn] I have always admired these elusive creatures for their namesake--those magnificent red and blue plumes they sport. Earlier this week, I was able to catch one with her newly-hatched child. Unfortunately, Dickens wouldn't let me use his 'camera' device, for fear that it would startle the beast, so readers must look upon this crude sketch of mine. I apologize for the somewhat garish colors. 2. [Image - Western Glacier Drake] Fascinating! I finally got my hands on Dickens' device and used it to capture this strange beast. It's the dead middle of July as I write this, but it seems this dragon's power has brought around December again, freezing over most things in its vicinity. 3. [Image - A God?] Text lost -- what happened here? 4. [Image - Hierarchy Among Lindwurms] Earlier today, I saw this odd little fellow skittering into the bushes with something in his mouth. I carefully followed him to what appears to be a 'throne room'. Upon the rocks sat a large, bejeweled wyrm---perhaps, a queen? 5. [Image - Arabian Sand Drake] Quite an oddity, this is. A sand drake has no home in the woods, so what force could have drove it here? My working theory is that it strayed too close to the coast and was swept away by the sea... 6. [Image - A Nightmare] I had a horrible dream the previous night. Normally, things like these would not be in my journal, but this dream felt so corporeal, even in the waking world. I floated, as if underwater, and this creature stood before me. It had no eyes, but it felt as if it were staring right through me. After what felt like hours of this, I stopped floating. The creature stayed in the air while I fell to my doom... This dream feels much more like a memory. 7. [Excerpt being transcripted--sorry!] 8. [Image - Beelzebub's Beast] Dickens reported hearing loud scrapes outside his home, and when he went outside to check what it was, he saw this hideous beast. I've saved the photo he took for documentation purposes, but I don't want to look at it any longer. Even the mere thought of the beast makes me shudder... 9. [Image - Wolfram Runner in a Battle] The little grey dragon seems to be impervious to the quetzal's acidic attacks. I wonder, if we could harness this power, too, would it prove useful? 10. [Image - Eastern Chromatic] I caught this tiny fellow in the china shop this week. She seems to have powers similar to that of the chameleon, changing color for camouflage. Despite her being in plain sight, no one there seemed to notice her. I heard quite a few comments directed towards her, but none seemed to see the little dragon there. 11. [Image - God's Warden] Text unintelligible. 12. [Image - A Great Grazing Beast] I'm not sure if this creature could even be considered a dragon. Its shape was more of a cattle's, with paws instead of hooves. It towered over most trees in the marshland it stood in, and i had to take it to memory and illustrate it, for fear I would be attacked if I got close enough to use the 'camera'. 13. [Image - Lycan?] Dickens gave me this picture he took for investigation, and it makes me think back to the mythical werewolves. If lycanthropy can appear in men, could it also appear in dragons? Or is this simply a dragon in the shape of a wolf? Perhaps I should ask Charleston on the matter. 14. [Image - Coal Drakes in a Storm] These two arrived at my doorstep on a particularly rainy day, presumably to protect their fires. I let them stay until the rain died down. However, my flower garden was eaten a bit... 15. [Excerpt being transcripted.]
