Two lil animals I made a while ago- weird fish-whale-dog things 1- First one’s name is Orange! (He/him) He’s the blue one with orange fins. He was the first one I made. I’ve since made a couple changes to his design to make it a tiny bit more recognizable. He’s Blossom’s best friend c: and he’s very bouncy and bubbly and happy. He’s a smaller, more lithe fish-creature-thingy. 2- And here’s Blossom! (She/they/any) She’s a light yellow with orange-red fins, a little like a sunset I guess. They have two younger siblings named Butter and Egg. They’re shy & somewhat anxious. She has a large build, and is a strong & fast swimmer. 3,4- Orange & Bloss without the lines because why not. Okay so here’s some lore & basic stuff for these creatures (I don’t have a name for them yet so I’ll call them whale-things or “others” for now lol) They live in coral reefs, usually in family colonies. The colonies usually consist of the parents, grown children, pups, and occasionally others taken in from roaming. (3-8 whale-things per colony) There are also deep-sea whale-things, but they’re much less common Average lifespan is around 45 years. They’re kind of a mix of mammal and fish. Live birth, but they have gills & breath underwater. They can breath above water, but not for long, and it’s harder to breathe. When they reach maturity, they either leave the colony they grew up in to start their own, or stay in the colony to help out with new pups. In a colony, only the original pair has pups. When they leave the colony, they wander around until they find their partner. The whale-things usually pair for life, although if their partner dies, they may take a new mate after a period of grieving. When whale-things decide to raise a family, they are “paired.” A pair will have one pup per litter, and very rarely two, although it’s uncommon for twin pups to survive birth. Yeah thats all
