This is my service dog, Kiwi! We got her from a program that rescues and trains shelter dogs to become service animals - she is my epilepsy alert and hearing assistance dog and I can't imagine life without her :) Press space to see the next picture! So sorry for the wait on pictures! The shelter that the service dog organization rescued her from took an insanely long time to take down her rescue pictures, and I wanted to wait until they had done that for safety reasons ^^' Anyway, this is Kiwi! She is trained to: - Alert me via nose boop before a seizure occurs. - Break my fall if I cannot get to a safe place before a seizure. - Stay with me until I regain consciousness, and help jog my memory after I do. - Retrieve my dad or another familiar person if I have a seizure and nobody is around. - Alert me via pawing if my phone rings or receives a text and I don't catch it, or if the doorbell rings. (We taught her to do this ourselves!) - Perform both basic obedience skills and tricks, including sit, down, stay, spin, sit pretty, speak, dance, head tilt, and fetch different items by name (water bottles, orange medication tubes, and little bags of pretzels that we keep in a special cubby she can reach).
