hihi :)) i needed 2 post this 4 obv reasons ,,,, and bcs i’ve seen it happening /way/ 2 on scratch itself . also if i say west asian i meant to say east asian ^^ i’m quite tired of this site itself. multiple people on here constantly try using asian culture as an aesthetic,,, and are going to the point where they are faking being /east/ asian for clout . also,,,, i am asian, but i’m a south asian, so dgmw but like idk if i should really be saying this, but lmk what ur opinion is on this :)) caps ahead :: **** PLEASE DONT COME AT ME IN THE COMMENTS,, JUST LMK WHAT I WROTE WRONG AND I’LL GLADLY GO BACK AND FIX IT <33 I DEEPLY APOLOGIZE IF I DO THOUGHH ,,, JUST EDUCATE ME AND I /WILL/ FIX IT <3 *** 1- the difference between liking vs using in an innappropriate manner oli london is a /huge/ example . as you all know,,, they are not asian themselves,,, but they’ve started calling themselves “trans-racial” where they can transform themselves to a whole different race? he’s mis-pronounced multiple korean words MULTIPLE times and comes at korean influencers ,,, has still has called himself korean,, he’s obviously not idk who he’s trying to fool . another example would be inquisitormaster ,,, i haven’t watched her for like 3 years now lol ,, but some1 told me she started asian fishing ? i watched a video regarding the issue and she started her skin looking paler and made her eyes more east-asian looking ( idk how to describe this fjhksfhdk ) ,,,, which is obv very offensive . she’s not asian herself,,, and using it for internet clout/fame is horribly wrong . overall,,, there is so many things wrong with her channel /itself/ but , i’m not getting into details :’) 2- language/religion is not an aesthetic ?? non-asians using our language w/o knowing the language itself,,, that’s js wrong to me . you can’t fool us by using a translator ,, ik you don’t speak it , translator isn’t always accurate . but people have been using our language as aesthetic symbols w/o realizing it on the internet ( not as much on scratch ) . for example using this symbol : ☸ for aesthetic purposes is highly disrespectful. why ? that ‘emoji’ you just put in your bio is actually a wheel often used in relation towards the indian cultures of hinduism, buddhism, sikhism, and jainism . you basically just used a piece of culture ,,, for aesthetic purposes . it’s not only that ,, but y’all don’t wanna know how many times i’ve seen non-asian creators use asian-language symbols for ‘aesthetic’ bios and /not/ realize it . it’s not on scratch ,, thank god,,, but more on like tt and stuff . that’s 1, rude , you’re using my native language to look aesthetic ?? what ?? 2, stupid + other uneducated people on the internet hv also been using it,, but it’s not their fault, they didn’t know. not only that but using east-asian names for an aesthetic are quite disrespectful/offensive to east-asians themselves , but that’s what they said, don’t come at me 4 it. not only that,,, but faking identities itself . pretending to be east-asian ,, is just 1, wrong . you’re basically saying that their race/ethnicity is trendy & cool 2 fake . no , no it’s not . don’t fake your race/ethnicity,, you’re fine the way you were born, no one on scratch will judge you for it <33 i’ve gotten a lot of racism put towards me irl in the past,, but it’s died down . 3- oh wow this is gonna be short stop. mocking. south. asians. go check out this amazing proj regarding it please <33 anyways yes this was pretty much a sort of short rant dcam dcam dcam if i said anything wrong,, just please lmk instead of directly attacking me 4 it <33 i would also like to be educated on what i’ve said wrong ,,, and would also like to know how to fix it ^^ thanks <3
