He stayed inside, never having friends come to see him, since he would never answer the door anyway. Zuka became a hikikomori after his mother's death, she died outside of his apartment building, he was afraid to go outside, fearing something might happen to him too. He was also ridden with guilt about her death, he thought it was his fault. He could've walked outside and saved her.. So when he died, he finally had a chance to make friends and be social for the first time in ten years, since when he died, his social withdraw was gone. But, he had terrible social skills from those years alone and withdrawn. The line in the song that plays first is "Tether on my feather, tell me, are things getting better?" This kind of refers to when he died, he had a little set-back, a tether if you will, he couldn't make friends. He wants things to get better, he wants a friend, but he can't make any. His social skills were so bad, he could barley talk to someone without freaking out. Till one day, he met Izumi. She had amazing social skills, and was so paitient with him. Izumi helped him figure out how to talk and have a conversation. Izumi dissapeared one day, leaving Zuka alone. But she had taught him well, he made new friends, but he never forgot his first friend. His speck of hope. His light in the darkness... A year after Izumi's dissapearence, another soul came to the afterlife. And he had the exact same problems as Zuka. Zuka brushed it off at first, but then remembered what Izumi did for him. He did the same thing Izumi did to this little guy, Omi. From about two years of friendship and help, Zuka found out that Omi was Izumi's younger brother who became shut in after his sisters death. After years of coaching and friendship, Omi finally got the courage and was now blooming. Zuka smiled, so proud of the little one. Peace washed over him, he closed his eyes and smiled. When he opened his eyes, he was in a new place. He realized he had earned his wings. "Hiya Zuka!" a familiar voice said... "Izumi...?"
