"Me?" Otterchase purred innocently "Missing nest?" he raised his head, closing his eyes and grinning smugly. "No clue what you're talking about! Must've grown legs and walked away." he sighed. "Such a shame. But ah well, nest's are replaceable, right?" he promptly ignored the lump growing in his throat, his brain reminding him in quiet whispers of the thing (the cat?) that wasn't. Cautiously, he rolled onto his paws, whiskers held forward to catch any movements Hawkcrest might make, in case his brother tried to snatch up his precious patch of dirt. "And you know what? Nest's aren't even that important! Unnecessary!" the double meanings of his words floated around his head teasingly, Otterchase trying to shake them away with a toss of his head. He hopped over to the remains of the nest he'd just obliterated and began to drag away a sizeable clump of untouched moss. How many nests was that now that Otterchase had struck down? Four? Wow! He was on fire! He pulled the portion of moss towards the patch of dust, and once he'd situated it right in the middle, he curled up onto it. The bit of moss was tiny, barely even fitting Otterchase, the little Warrior having to scrunch himself up into a tight ball to fit onto it, his tail hanging off the side. "This'll do me nicely." he insisted.
idea. "Yeah, I think I'm gonna keep it as mine." There was- blatantly /not/ enough room to shove a nest there. Otterpaw was aware. "Nests are outdated! Patches of dirt, they're where it's at! Mousepaw says I snore like a badger anyway, maybe it's time this old cranky badger to ruin someone else's sleep!" I LOVE HAWKPAW HAHA )) Otterpaw's eyes widened in false innocence. "What?" he asked, drawing out the single word exaggeratedly. He rolled further onto his back and began squirming the dirt, sending little clouds of dust out from bellow him. "Y'mean /this/ space?" he reaffirmed, voice still carrying that mocking tone, though a cheeky smile was spread wide across his space now. "You know what? I think I really like this- little patch of dirt." He held a paw to his muzzle as if mulling over the (+) The snap was followed by a crack and then a creak and then a clamorous crash as Otterpaw tore through the undergrowth, bursting from the branches of a large bush, falling flat on his face and his quarry, three chubs and a little minnow, spilling out across the grass. But that wasn't all he had on him. Hanging from his mouth was a huge, mossy nest, almost double the size of him, which when he was sent toppling over was flung right over him, encasing the little tom in a fuzzy green cocoon. "Ahhh!" he shrieked, flailing around wildly beneath the moss. "Something's got me!" he cried, kicking excessively until one of his paws was sent right through the nest. He came to a sudden stop, the air falling silent. "Oh." was all he said, before squirming out from beneath his mossy prison. "Good evening, sir Thrasherpaw," he purred, dipping his head in a little bow, as if nothing wrong had happened at all. "Look!" he cried, moving back towards the moss. "I stole Hawkcrest's nest!" he purred proudly, pulling it up into his jaws and dragging it across the grass towards Thrasherpaw with much effort, almost tripping over it on the way. Once he was satisfied he thew it down onto the ground, looking pretty pleased with himself.
