being 'asian' isn't an aesthetic a rant by @sincerely-wynn ●●● tl;dr at the bottom !! there's a 'trend' going around where people have been putting 'asian' in their bio/wiwo firstly, I understand that some people might be asian, but there are obviously some people who aren't asian and still putting it in their bio/wiwo this trend is definetly harmful, this firstly is rude to south asians (india, bangladesh, pakistan, etc) because it's obviously implying when they say 'asian' they are making it seem that they are korean, chinese, or japanese, and making those feel like the most valid asian countries and making those cultures 'aesthetic' secondly, this trend is making it feel like only asians can be part of the aesthetic community, like you can't mention that you are say- american because only asians can be aesthetic thirdly, this is very disrespectful to in east asians like korean people, chinese, and japanese, because their culture is turned into this 'aesthetic' please, even if you ARE a asian, *maybe* take it off your bio/wiwo, it starting a harmful and disrespectful trend, aesthetics aren't about culture, and influencing a trend like this isn't good. if there are any false asians putting 'asian' on their bio/wiwo please understand what you are doing and maybe take it off? tl;dr putting 'asian' on your b/w has been making it a trend people have been faking to be asian because of this its a harmful trend bcs a.) its rude to south-east asians b.) its making ppl feel a bit left out, making it that only asians can be aesthetic c.) its disrespectful to east asians, to make their culture a trend maybe take it off your b/w even if you are asian ? its producing a harmful trend thats all! © @sincerely-wynn 2022
