[]I sat down at the cliff and looked up to the sky and wondered how anyone could deal with such an empty canvas, such a white space. How could anyone live with such a boring moon! I grabbed a random stick on the ground, but then noticed my own talons in the process. They were pale... I shook my head. Maybe this whole animus thing is getting to my head. There's no way it's that dangerous... right? I turned back to the stick I was holding and thought about what I could make it. “A paintbrush… no… too dull without ink/paint… maybe a paintbrush that paints whatever color the holder is thinking! Yea… that sounds fun… but what about a canvas…” I muttered. Then I heard someone approaching. I turned around to see who it was, but didn’t see anyone. I sighed. This place is supposed to be my safe place… I do hope no one followed me here. I must be hallucinating. I turned back to my stick and kept wondering what it could be, many ideas and thoughts flowing through my head. Some related to the task at hand... and others were about other random things. Speaking of random things... "What should I eat for dinner... Im kinda hungry... No no no- im getting distracted again... hmmm maybe a banana..." I kept mumbling to myself. After what seemed like an hour, I finally made up my mind. I grabbed the stick and held it up to my mouth. “Make this stick an infinite paintbrush, with the colors painted be exactly as the holder imagined, also make this stick able to draw on thin air, making the drawing a physical object when the painter is done.”I whispered. I pushed the stick away from my mouth. It glowed a little afterwards. Then the stick dimmed. A flurry of emotions hit me at once; Curiosity, Excitement, and Worry. I grabbed the stick and imagined a really vibrant red. It glowed again, and I waved the stick around freely in the air. Red stripes and splotches floated in the air in front of me, as if it was waiting to become something else. I jumped. I didn’t expect it to actually work! I smiled and waved my claw through the paint, and felt it against my talons. It felt wet, yet at the same time it was as if there was nothing there. I tried waving it away, however that method didn't work. As I expected it to. I moved my talon away, yet curiously enough the floating colors did not stain them. It just let go as if it were some sort of slime. I looked around curiously and grabbed a rock and held it up to my mouth. I could make this an eraser that could erase the paint messes... “Make this rock an eraser of sorts, an object that can erase any kind of art or color.” I whispered. I then grabbed the rock and waved it in front, in between, and even under some of the red stripes and splotches, hoping that it would erase. And as the red stripes and splotches disappeared, I felt a wave of relief wash over me. I set both the rock and stick down in front of me, and looked at my talons. They had turned white, and even my arm started to turn pale. I sighed, and picked up the stick and rock. I had no idea how I was going to fix this… I was my people’s animus, I needed to use my power in the way I knew how. A dark thought, followed by a chill down my spine, then whispered in my mind: What if you weren’t your people’s animus? You could just run away, cast a spell to make them forget all about you… I shook my head, trying to remove the voice. It did go away, but its evil vibe was still there in a way. Was I going insane? I exhaled and picked up the stick and rock. “I think I'm done for today…” I sighed, then yawned. It was getting late… I stood up, turned around, my back against the moon, and I flew back to the village. I maneuvered through the forest, dodging low hanging vines and branches. The village wasn't far, but hardly anyone goes into this forest due to rumors about a... uh... the rumor was so boring I forgot about it. Ughhhh why are people so scared of a couple trees and bushes. I landed right in front of my little hut, closest to the forest and farthest from the rest of the houses and shops, yet it still had a winding dirt path from the front of my hut to the rest of the village. The village was found in a forest opening, every dragon having a little hut or den as a home or shop with fruits, berries, or other materials. It was too dark, though, so I couldn't see much of the houses from here. Only the few that had lamp posts on. I sighed as I opened the door to my hut, ready to collapse right on my bed. I wandered over there, and just sat down. I was exhausted, yet I had this ominous feeling looming in my room. I later just fell asleep.[] 1/2
2/2 - []I opened my eyes, but what I saw wasn't my room. I saw a pale white void... I looked around me. It was just white. And it felt like I was floating... was I floating? I looked down. Yep. I was floating. I tried to... swim. Anything to move. I moved my talons around, yet movement was unachievable. I sighed and let my limbs go, them following through, looking lifeless and unmoveable. I thought of all the colors that could go with this empty void, it was very dull for someplace that seems to be a dream-like space. Some pink... maybe green... Ooooo purple would look nice. I lifted up my talons and just moved them around, trying to move again, yet all I managed was to leave streaks of color in my wake. I stared at the colors curiosly, as they matched the exact description of the colors I had been thinking of not a few seconds earlier. I smiled. I proceeded to wave my limbs around again, trying to make a path for myself to walk on. It suceeded, of course, I figured this was a dream, and I walked around, painting trees, landscapes, all sorts of things. "PALLET!" I hear someone echo in my dream. I didn't draw anyone... I look around confused. "PALLET, WAKE UP!" I hear the same voice echo again, and then I feel someone shaking me. The void I was in suddenly fades to black, and I fall.[]I jolt awake, and look beside me. I sighed in relief. Its my friend, Mint. She held my shoulders with her talons, and she looked panicked. "Hey, calm down!" I say with a grin as I lower her talons from my shoulders. Only then did I see the stick in my grip. "What... did you do Pallet..." She asks me with a dead serious tone. I slowly turn my head to the ceiling, and gasp. I was in awe, confusion, and panic in this one moment, as I was taking in what I had just witnessed. Blobs, spots, and stripes of colors glowed and floated above our heads. "Pallet what is this?!" She asks me again, with a more frantic tone in her voice pointing at the ceiling. I smile and reply. "Oh, I just made an infinite paintbrush, thats all." I replied holding up my stick. Mint shakes her head in disbelief. "Oh Pallet... you could be using your power for more useful stuff..." She tells me with a smile. "Yea yea, I heard it before. Now can you help me pick up this mess?" I ask as I set down the stick and grab the rock.[] ||AALBNSEKA RTH- IM DONE. DARN YOU SCHOOL- DARN YOUUUUU. Anyways, this was fun to write! Pallet is part of a fan-tribe that I call MonarchWings. Very gentle beings that just want to chill and live in peace. Their main scale colors can vary from a light red-orange to a nice deep brown. Their accents *like the green parts* can be any color in the visible spectrum. :) Their names are based on flowers, different colors in the visible spectrum, and art supplies. Pallet's personality: Curious, Happy and Innocent, yet Scared of their own power, making them Anxious and Introverted ;w;’. Very artistic, but cannot be doing the same thing or looking at the same thing for more than an hour or they will get bored. They are also uncomfortable with white areas with no color or unique design. They think it's too boring. Anyways, yea! Hope this concept was OK. :) Its my first time drawing a dragon soooo they look more snak- like. eh i'll just say its a part of the tribe :) ||
