Splatter is a multiplayer game that takes place on a grid of tiles and paint blobs, where the goal is to be the last remaining player with an unsplattered blob. For the instructions, click the "Go to Guide" button on the title screen. It's recommended that you play this game on https://turbowarp.org/723289171?clones=Infinity instead of on Scratch, as this game was not built with the 300 clone limit in mind. You can still play the game on Scratch, but there will be restrictions on how big the grid can be.
I did not come up with the original concept of Splatter: the game originated in the book "Math Games with Bad Drawings", written by Ben Orlin. The many games covered in the book are almost all pencil and paper games, which by their nature are meant to be played anywhere and set up by anyone, and many of the games covered in the book were not created by Orlin, so I figured it was okay to make this game on Scratch even though it is not an original creation of mine. That being said, I have added a lot of features and gamemodes to this game that were not suggested in the book (after all, Splatter is only one of the many games covered in the book, and it's not one of the main ones either), expanding the game far beyond its original concept. Changelog: 1.2.2 (Oct. 15, 2023): Added "Randomize This Color" and "Randomize All Colors" to the color selection screen. 1.2.1 (Jan. 30, 2023): The color of empty tiles can now be changed, and Marking Tiles are more easily accessed in Change Blob Colors. 1.2 (Nov. 20, 2022): Added gamemode, board, and saved game Save Codes, as well as some new options in Custom Game, including looping edges, Turn Offset, and pre-determined empty tiles, and reordered the Custom Game setup process to account for save codes. Added six new gamemodes: Toroidal Splatter, Weekly 3x3 Refresh, A Hole in the Middle, Making a Paint Crystal, A Lattice of Blobs, and Four Interwoven Worlds. Also increased the maximum players to 18, added Marking Tiles, allowed light-colored tiles to still have outlines (unless outlines are disabled, of course), fixed some bugs, and made a few other small changes. 1.1.1 (Nov. 11, 2022): Fixed a bug where the latter two pages of the Custom Game options screen were not available... so sorry that this one slipped through the cracks! 1.1 (Nov. 6, 2022): On the Custom Game screen where you change the uses and costs of individual patterns, options related to use increases and turn availability have been added, and page 3 of Custom Game now has the Cost Priorities system (the previous third modifier of page 3 has been moved to page 2 to replace the option that the Cost Priorities system itself replaces). To display these new features, eight gamemodes have also been added: Interlocking Rings, Get Ready to Splatter!, Diamond-Checkerboard Switch, Perennial Big Splat, Restocking Rations, Free Pattern Day, Alphabet Splatter, and Digital Splatter. Also added an option in the Change Blob Colors screen to remove outlines from splattered tiles, and fixed a few bugs. 1.0.1 (Nov. 1, 2022): Added the "Change Blob Colors" screen, allowing the colors of the blobs to be customized. 1.0 (Sep. 25, 2022): Game released, including fifteen gamemodes, two pages of Custom Game options and the first three modifiers of the third page, customizable splatter patterns, and more!
