WARNING! THIS IS A DARK ONE! Deathbringer finds a Strange Dragonet in the Rainforest. Deathbringer thinks Moon is better than a 'normal' Nightwing. Deathbringer asks Moon to be his apprentice. Deathbringer finds out Moon can read minds. Deathbringer begins to train Moon, her mind reading skills are a great asset, and she's already great at sneaking in the shadows. Best of all, she is quite fine with his rather 'loosely translated' take on orders. She doesn't like the idea of killing other Dragons in cold blood, but she is awesome at making them disappear. She begins to help with missions and is quite good at it. The two of them make a good team, most of their targets disappear to start new lives, and the occasional killing of some Dragon that actually deserves it is fine with Moon, as long as they did indeed deserve it. Everything is fine and dandy until Moon meets Blister. (Technically just spies on her from the shadows.) A mission takes them close to the middle Sandwing sisters base, and Moon overhears in Deathbringers mind how Blister had his mother killed. She later reads Blisters mind and is horrified at how cruel and cunning she is. At this point Moon has grown used to killing Dragons that Deserve It. It is the easiest decision in the world; slitting Blisters throat and telling Deathbringer his mother is avenged. Deathbringer is surprised and horrified, Moon has just unknowingly destroyed all of the Nightwings plans with one well aimed blade. (he's a bit touched she'd kill for him, but that's beside the point.) The two of them go into hiding as Deathbringer explains the consequences of Moon's actions to her. There is now nothing stopping Burn from killing Blaze and ruling with an iron claw. Moon realizes she has to fix her mistake and so she decides to kill Burn. But Burn has already sent her own assassins after Blaze. With all three sisters dead, the continent descends into complete chaos, with the Sandwing Queendom at the heart of it all. Moon and Deathbringer go into hiding. The Nightwings scramble to fix their plans. The Seawings flee into deeper waters, pursued by the curse on their Queens eggs and her ever growing paranoia. Scarlet seizes more and more land in both the Swamps and Desert, her arena overflowing with new prisoners. The Mudwings are sandwiched between the growing Skywing threat and a forest full of monsters. the Icewings are pushing for territory. and the Sandwing Queendom is rife with gang warfare, as different groups struggle for power. A rumor starts and grows about a magical artifact that grants whoever holds it control over the Queendom. A Dragon named Onyx claims to be Oasis's granddaughter, but she is not alone in her claims. The land isn't soaked in blood and tears, it's completely saturated.
Scarlet still finds the Dragonets of destiny in this world, and they still escape. They still journey to the sea, but they never find the Seawings, who have long since fled into the deepest oceans. (This means Tsunami never learns aquatic, but she does devise a simple code with her friends) In the Rainforest Glory becomes Queen, and the Nightwings are defeated once more, there is no trip to the Icewings Queendom. and Glory trusts Nightwings even less than she would have if a certain assassin had been there. no one captures Sunny, but she goes to the Queendom of Sand anyways and finds her mother. She joins Thorn in her fight for power, believing her to be the best choice for the new Queen, but not so foolish as to believe in prophecies. This worlds Sunny saw the prophecy fail before she had a chance to fulfill it. This worlds Sunny listened to Morrowseer confess his lies and killed him with her own claws. This worlds Sunny would laugh bitterly at the Sunny we know and love, Fate is for Fools, the only destiny she has is the one she fights for herself. This worlds Sunny looked up at a false moon and saw only a distraction. Darkstalker never wakes in this world, some small mercy from above, perhaps. But the Othermind still rises across the ocean. The Silkwings and Leafwings still flee across the sea. But all they find is more pain, more war, more death. The age of Dragons ends, and from the ashes, Humans rise in power once more. A cycle continues on, the circle continues, as it always will. But even in the Darkest Night there are Stars of Light. Peril and Clay raise several young dragonets, and Peril finds her twin brother. And though it takes longer in this world, Wren finds her own brother Leaf and his wife Ivy and discovers that she is soon to be an aunt. Starflight and Fatespeaker find each other as well, and Starflight never goes blind in this world (though he does need glasses in his later years) A necklace breaks and a brother comes home to ice and snow, confusion and betrayal. Rainwings and Nightwings learn to trust each other eventually, and even as the age of Dragons ends a new tribe of hybrids rise. In the depths of the ocean a statue is destroyed, and a sister is born. Qibli makes friends with some captured Icewing royalty, Snowfall and Winter are not amused by his friendliness, Icicle examines her life choices, and precedes to make better ones. (Lynx is vibing in the background) The Othermind never gets Blue and Swordtail. And although it takes several decades more, it is eventually destroyed. A Nightwing assassin meets the Queen of Rain and Night. And though Glory never meets Deathbringer, she does adopt Moon. Who finds a small amount of peace being back in the Rainforest. And a hundred years later, under the light of three full moons, Sunny holds a magic piece of jewelry in her aging claws, before giving it to her daughter. "This is My choice. This is the right choice. This is your new Queen!" "Are you sure Mother?" "Very sure." Queen Thorn is named for her Grandmother, but she has her mother's scales. A Golden Queen brings peace to not just her own tribe, but all the tribes. Even as they flee the new Human threat the Dragons unify and know peace for the first time in over a century. Sunny holds back the Human Armies as the Dragons flee. Minutes before her final battle, she looks out over the gathered Dragons and for the first time in years feels a spark of hope...
