Hi everyone! I did the entry for Lava, and I added Fatik (a Character I made for this) and this is the backstory of how they met! It was Lava’s first time out of the cave where they had grown up, and they couldn't be happier. Gone were the days when being silent as any other dragon flew over, gone were the hungry and sleepless nights when their mother had forgotten to bring them food. Gone were the chains that held them back. The reminisce of the chains thumped against their chest with every wing beat reminded them of their previous life. Not any longer, Lava thought, angling their wings to dive into another air current. Now I’m free. I can stretch out my wings as far as they go. Up here, I can feel the sun on every single one of my scales. Sun. The sun was much different out here, stuck in the cave, the only sun that ever reached them was on their tail if they were able to move it that day. But in the expanse of the open sky, the sun shined and reflected through the fiery copper and red scales up along the edge of his wings, the tip of his tail, and his talons like amber that was unearthed after thousands of years. A few remaining chains were still wrapped around the base of his tail, like the surrounding ones of his arms. Lava dove towards a small lake, dipping his claws into the water that caused them to sizzle. It was a strange new conundrum that Lava had discovered after the first time they felt the sun on their scales. They dove into the crystal clear water, washing out the remains of stalagmites that were stuck in between their scales. The reason why their mother had hidden them in the cave was that the rest of their scales were a dark blueish gray, except for a few orangey red ones spotting their snout. The water hissed in protest to the new heated scales meeting them. Lava resurfaced, spreading their wings out, flapping them several times to dry them off, spraying water droplets all over. They glanced around the clearing, pulling themselves out onto a beach, the sand turning into glass under their talons. The beach was surrounded by various plants that Lava had memories from several books that their mother had brought them. There were tiger lilies, cat tails, and tall grass, even a few orchids growing around smaller pools. They stood up, and walked into the forest, ignoring the plants that were shriveling up under their talons. The various tree branches were dancing in the breeze, their branches brushing his back, but not shriveling up like the grass. A small hut with a smoke stack was touched into the corner of a hill. Lava walked up to it, too curious to find out what it is. They knocked on the simple wooden door with their elbows. The door opened, reviling a dragon, around the same age as Lava. He was wearing a long, red visor, he pulled it down, reviling a kind, curved snout. The other Dragon was wearing a long purple robe and large circle glasses, smiling widely. “Hello! Are you here for Fatik’s glass emporium?” The dragon asked, his blue-grey tail swishing, it was dappled with lilac purple, just like the scales that were thrown all over his snout and body. “No,” Lava shook their head, still fascinated with the new dragon they had found. He has never seen someone with such bright purple eyes, nor someone who was missing half an ear. “Oh, then, why are you here?” “I’m lost.” The other dragon nodded, opening the door even more. “Come in! Come In! We can talk it out, and I can then send you on your merry way!” Lava entered the room, which was heavily decorated with glass sculptures. Lava decided to sit on the large stone in front of the fireplace, afraid that we would ruin the kind's dragon’s rugs. “Sorry about all the clutter, I was working on a project when you knocked” He gestured with his pale yellow wing as he was scooping sand back into a barrel. “What do you do with all that sand?” “I’m a glassblower” He responded, pushing up his glasses farther up his snout. His horns were a blue color, and straight, with a reverse head fluff going down his neck and snout, ending at the tip of his tail. “But melting the sand is hard sometimes.” “Have you never been burned at all?” “Never, I touch the melted glass with my bare talons, and it never happened.” He shoved the barrel next to Lava, sighing. “What's your name?” “Gee, you have a lot of questions, have you been living under a rock or something? He sat down next to them, closing his eyes. “My name is Fatik, and I’m going to take a nap. You can join me if you want. Lava nodded their head, then closed their eyes as well, sliding over, slowly falling asleep with the sun and Fatik.
