Lies and Fake Smiles Prologue The pitter-patter of rain, the ambulance wailing, my mother crying. It all sounded distant as I stared at the bloody lump in front of me. My father. That bloody lump was my father. I tore my eyes away from him as I looked up at the car which had hit him. It was a black land-cruiser, no comparison to our small Hyundai.
