tl;dr at notes and creds Heya, today I'm discussing a problem. People comparing scratch idols, celebrities, projects and generally just comparing this or that. Why? Why do we do that? Well, to answer that, I'm going to interview some people ( mainly scratch idols but also friends). I will ask: What is you opinion on comparing scratch idols, celebrities, so on and so forth? // Do you think there is a reason behind it? @astro-tears "the only "good" reason I can think of is if someone wants to make an idol feel powered over another idol. The intention for them and the idol they like may feel good about themself, but the other individual you are comparing them to obviously won't. So, it is still somewhat cruel" - astro to sum the answer, one may feel the need to make one idol feel better than another, yet this is still somewhat mean. @buiietproof "hmm i dont really have an idol but i think people shouldnt compare them, it's just wrong and rude" - yuna sum: it's wrong and rude. for the sake of time, that's all I will be interviewing. In my opinion, it's wrong. People who probably don't have a problem with the other person are getting compared. and it can be really disheartening when you see a project like that on yourself and someone else and they are winning. it can hurt their feelings. It's truly disturbing to see people fighting over their "idols" and who's better throwing insults to the other person.
tl;dr It's wrong to compare people because of their feelings. it can hurt if you are losing in a comparison battle. it can also hurt if people start throwing insults at you because their idol is losing.
