This is Finchflight, one of @cookie123_cool's oc's from one of me and her's rps. (This is a gift for her). Her backstory is very sad and kinda lonely. Backstory: Finchkit and Mosskit, two sisters, who were born to Lakewing and Branchstorm. Their kithood was pretty cheerful the first few days, they explored the dens, met Cloudpaw, met the medicine cat, Graythorn, met some of the warriors, Rainfur and Flamefeather, they met Sandfur, another warrior, and met the leader, Mottledstar. Two weeks after they were given birth, Finchkit and Mosskit were exploring at the edge of their territory. Then Mosskit picked up a weird scent, but before she could inform her sister, a huge roar rumbled behind them. Mosskit turned and her tail bristled. Finchkit turned and her eyes widened as she saw it; a huge badger shadowing the dead body of Lakewing. The two kits squealed and then a cat raced behind them, scooping them up. It was their father, the deputy. The look in his eyes made Finchkit shudder as he raced into camp with them dangling from his jaws. He plopped them in the nursery with Sandfur, who was expecting Flamefeather's kits. But, as Branchstorm left them with the sandy-coloured she-cat, Mosskit whined and eyed at a wet moss ball that Sandfur was lapping at. Sandfur offered her some, and then Mosskit offered Finchkit, but Finchkit looked at her sister and then turned away. Time skip (everything boring) -----> "All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here for a Clan Meeting!" Mottledstar called. Finchkit and Mosskit pawed at Sandfur, who was grooming them. She had become their foster mother ever since Lakewing had died. As they gathered, Mottledstar gave them apprentice names and mentors. Finchpaw was apprenticed to Stonefur, and Mosspaw to Flamefeather. As the meeting was dismissed, Finchpaw saw how Mosspaw was mooning over Cloudpaw. Their tails were twined, and she growled as she saw her sister lick him on the cheek. She knew what was happening, and she giggled as Mosspaw almost toppled on top of him as she lost her balance. Time skip (IK IK I CANT WRITE EVERYTHING) Finchflight (ik) padded to Cloudpelt and Mossshine, who were mates now. She looked as Barkpaw padded around Branchstorm, his mentor, and looked as Shinepaw, Graythorn's apprentice, busily picked at a pile of poppy seeds. The Clan was busy, and it was almost leaf-bare. But as Finchflight walked out of camp to hunt, she looked into DustClan territory. She puffed out her chest. She was a PebbleClan warrior, and she was going to be the strongest that ever lived. She returned to camp with a plump rabbit, giving it to Mossshine, who was put in the nursery now, so close to giving birth. As she watched the two nibbling at the rabbit, she sighed. But she looked at the leaders' rock. She would be deputy one day! But she looked at her father. He would have to die or retire so she could become deputy. And she hasn't trained a apprentice yet. But she would soon! She turned to her den, but Stonefur, her former mentor, stopped her. His eyes burned with wisdom, and he told her these words: "There is more to life than becoming deputy." Finchflight had trouble sleeping the next couple of days, and as they passed, Silverkit was born to Mossshine and Cloudpelt, and Barkpaw became Barkfur and Shinepaw became Shineheart. She kept thinking about Stonefur's speech. As she woke from another leaf-fall day, she saw a blur outside of camp. She padded out and into the forest, and saw a black she-cat standing on a rock. She looked at her, and the she leapt off and sniffed Finchflight. "You-you're a Clan cat!" the black she-cat exclaimed. "C-can I join your Clan?" she meowed, her eyes pleading. "Unless you are from DustClan," the cat said. Finchflight explained she was from PebbleClan, and how she was not the leader. The black cat told Finchflight that she used to be from DustClan, and she left her Clan because they were rude and cruel. "Anyway, I am Quickstrike," the she announced. Finchflight introduced herself as they padded to PebbleClan camp. Cats gathered and saw as Finchflight lead Quickstrike into the camp. Time skip Finchflight curled into her den, watching as Silverpaw chased around Sparrowkit and Ashkit, Quickstrike and Barkfur's kits. Ashkit chased her brother with Silverpaw, giggling excitedly. As they tumbled around playfully, Finchflight saw her niece carefully playing, since she was so much bigger than the kits. She looked into the clearing, which her father's body lay out. He died from greencough, and Graythorn and Shineheart tried to save him, but it had been too late. Time skip Sparrowpaw jumped around Finchflight, his mentor. Finchflight lead him into the forest, showing him how to hunt. But as they hunted, Finchflight heard a snarl. She turned and saw Heronstar, leader of DustClan. She unsheathed her claws. Heronstar threatened her to get off that part of territory, but Finchflight told him it was PebbleClan territory. Go to credits no more space here
only read this if you read the part in the instructions Heronstar bristled, and he slashed at her ear. Finchflight told Sparrowpaw to get backup, and he returned with all of the warriors. Heronstar retreated. As they returned to camp, Ashpaw was stretched up on the ground. Sparrowpaw gasped. Finchflight looked at her apprentice solemly. She looked at her sister, who was looking to the dead apprentice. Mossshine caught her eye and blinked. She turned to the nursery, since she chose to stay a queen. Silverstrike (IK) padded to the side of Finchflight, and she sat down. Time skip Finchflight gazed out of her nest and into the clearing, where snowfall was huge. She padded into it, her paws tingling as she touched the white powder. She looked at Quickstrike in the nursery with Barkfur, gazing over their kits. There was only a small black she-kit with white paws, who was named Whitekit. Finchflight envied them. She looked to her sister, who was in the nursery as well. She was looking at her own kit, a she as well, who she named Specklekit. Finchflight looked at her paws. She padded out of the camp, smelling around for prey. She smelled a faint whiff of hare, and she looked around for it. A huge roar rumbled behind her, and she saw DustClan cats tumbling into PebbleClan camp. Her eyes widened, and she sprinted into the camp. She saw Mossshine splayed onto a flat rock, with a scrawny tom ripping at her pelt. Finchflight tossed him off her sister, crying as she saw her glazed eyes. She pushed her muzzle into the cold, brown fur, and she looked at the grieving Cloudpelt, with Specklekit tucked in his tail, mewling. She was not even a day old, and her mother was lost. She went over, ducking her head to pick up the crying kit, but Cloudpelt gave her a warning growl. He told her it was his kit, and he was meant to protect her. But a feeling inside made Finchflight uneasy. She was one of the last parts of her kin left, Lakewing had died from a badger, Branchstorm from greencough, now Mossshine from a raid, and she, Specklekit, and Silverstrike were the last left of her kin. She looked up at the stars, and the constellations formed into her sister's face. "Who is supposed to take care of Specklekit?" she whispered. Mossshine's paw formed, and it pointed towards Finchflight. She sighed. Time skip Specklekit had grown weak, since Quickstrike could not produce much milk, and she could only make enough for the healthy Whitekit. And any time Finchflight tried to get close to Specklekit, Cloudpelt stopped her. And, Specklekit eventually died, since she did not have much strength and not enough nutrition. Mottledstar called Finchflight over and into his den. Finchflight seated herself beside the stream in his den, and the leader settled into his nest. He explained that Cloudpelt was having a rough time, and how Finchflight didn't have to take it all out on her sister's mate. Then his eyes widened, and he shoved her out of the den. He tried to leap out, but huge boulders toppled on top of him. Finchflight gasped, grasping the small rocks and tugging them out. She saw a bit of brown fur, but she heard no scrabbling to get out. She knew Mottledstar was dead, but she kept digging. The limp body slid out of the small hole Finchflight created, and cats gathered around and gasped. Time skip Cloudstar (ik) yowled, and cats gathered around the rock. He made the deputy Finchflight. It seemed his anger over Specklekit had eased, and Sparrowfeather congratulated his former mentor. Finchflight felt proud yet sad. She would never have kits, because she would have to give up her role of deputy. She looked up to Cloudstar, and she sighed as he dismissed the Clan. She settled down beside where her sister was buried, and she curled up. She had gotten one of her wishes, but had lost so much. ------------END OF BACKSTORY-------------
