People carriers were at their peak in popularity, so it quickly caught on with consumers. Whereas other brands tried to upsell their MPVs, HOS didn't bother to sugar coat the Multiespacio and marketed it towards families and fleet services from the get-go. This approach made it very popular across Spain and favored by taxi drivers and even various local police departments. Nowadays, they are still a relatively common sight on Spanish roads, but the years of wear, tear and neglect have taken their toll. S models are basically extinct, due to their common life as fleet vehicles, but other models (such as the SE) are still mechanically sound somehow, though not physically.
