You could call the waves calming, and yet the crashing of the waves, like thunder, was somehow chaotic. Aurelia looked around at the ocean she had always lived in. It was the cause of her happiness, but also her depression. What would have happened if she had used the time differently that day? What would have happened if she had chosen something else? Five years ago, Aurelia was in her family’s royal palace. She had everything she had ever wanted. The palace was on the ocean, but the basement floors were underwater. All was calm in the palace, except for Aurelia and her twin sister arguing about the best color. No one expected anything, except the happiness as usual. Until, the family realized that something was different. Of course, because nothing had happened the past 8 years, they dismissed it as a trick of the mind. Except it was much more serious than that. The glass in the underwater basement had a crack. The crack grew bigger and bigger as the family carried on the whole day, unknowing about how grave the situation was. It wasn’t until the moon had fully risen, and shown through the translucent, colored windows that any action was taken. “The windows! The windows! Broken! We need to evacuate.” Yelled Seaglass, Aurelia’s father. The water had leaked fully into the house and was rising without mercy. Everyone panicked, and ran upstairs trying to run from the water. It all happened in what seemed like a millisecond. The water had risen up to where the rest of Aurelia’s family was then. Her family was attempting to swim, but they didn’t know how. It washed them away, deep down to the bottom of the ocean, with the guards, the maids and the rest of the staff. After that day, Aurelia had never seen her family again. Aurelia happened to be gifted at swimming. Her family had never taught her, and she had never done anything until that day. Her necklace is made of the broken glass from the Royal palace. But, she knows that it is better to be positive. As she watches the sunset, the light shining through her glass necklace, she smiles at the memories of her past.
Why I want Aurelia. From the first time I saw her, I knew I wanted her as one of my characters. If I were to win her, I would try to draw every piece that describes emotions. Her design is fitting to almost any situation, and using this I want to put her in a comic series. I have entered DTA’s before, but have never won any. I realized that I felt something with Aurelia that I didn’t feel with any others. It was, I suppose relating to her. It’s very hard to explain, her design had many aspects that reminded me of my own life. Thanks: Thank you, Diamond for creating these characters in a DTA. I think that creating characters is quite hard, and I think that you are amazing at it! Thanks for putting your time into them!
