don't overdo crediting by hazel @cakerclls ━━━━━━ ◦ ♡ ◦ ━━━━━━ heya guysss in this rant I will be talking abt ‘overdoing/overthinking crediting’ basically, a summary is asking ppl to credit for things that aren’t necessary to credit, like a username that can be commonly thought of, an idea that isn’t like that hard to think of, font combo, or of using like the same character in a thumb/banner ^^ these aren’t rlly necessary to credit, and I think the aes comm really overthinks the seriousness of crediting, or probably better phrased as to what extent u need to credit. there are many other communities on scratch, almost all of them don’t need to credit for tiny things, like the art comm for ex. Also on many other social platforms (can’t say cos bot) there’s barely any credit for video ideas, usernames etc etc :”) Why do we have to cause big dramas over crediting ?? That’s one of the main reasons that add to the t0xicity and based on all the studios we are trying to reduce that I believe. There are some stuff like usernames, we can clearly see if someone took heavy inspo sometimes but if u make an f2u usernames proj and one of the usernames is taken without credit then u don’t necessarily know if that person took the user from ur proj or not, especially if it’s quite trending rn, like quite a few I’ve noticed. e.g. ending in ‘rie’ or ‘stry’, to do with paws lol or stuff like that, they don’t have to credit if they didn’t take the user. If u think they’re lying, then maybe just don’t share a f2u users proj? Other situations, like asking to credit for a nickname, fonts, and one of the most common, saying someone took inspo from ur sTyLe. It may look like they took inspo, but there’s so many similar styles nowadays, we all use overlays, pngs and I’ve seen tons of the same pngs + overlays used everywhere so it’s not that unlikely to come across someone using similar pngs + overlays to u, maybe coincidentally in similar places??
