Although adding separated diacritics to letters to make new ones isn't allowed, you can still add a length, nasalization, palatalization or velarization one to a letter to make only a new variation of it. The phonemes for the number like letters were decided with X-SAMPA (except the 0 one, I made it up since there wasn't an actual 0 in it). Orthography rules: Ж and C are used instead of "C" in loanwords when its sound is either /k/ or /s/ respectively. Some vowels have allophones if they're used in an unstressed syllable of a word. - 6 is the allophone of A. - Ǝ is the allophone of E. - Є is the allophone of Ɛ. [V3.1] - 1 is the allophone of I. - ᗺ is the allophone of O. - Ø is the allophone of Ɔ. [V3.1] - ⇂ is the allophone of U. Every ƳI, ƳU, WI and WU is replaced with Ī, Y, Ա and Ū respectively. Other diphthong merges also exist too. - ⱰA̯ becomes Ɑ. (Never used) - EO̯ becomes Ƨ. - ƐƆ̯ becomes ꟼ. - OE̯ becomes ⅂. - ƆƐ̯ becomes Ʌ. ...[V3.2]... Ƞ is used instead of silent letters (probably E or H) in loanwords. ꓘ is used in loanwords where Q is supposed to be if its sound is /k/ or /q/. Every L between vowels is replaced with a Ƽ. Updates: The letter ഗտ was added as /tɹ̝̊/ and placed between Pp and Qq. It's uppercase form is supposed to be an S turned by 90 degrees and the letter itself is derived from greek San (Ϻ). Lowercase Ꞩewⱻ (ə) was changed to ⱻ. ---[V3.1]--- The allophones were changed. The letter Єє was added as /e̞/ and placed between Ee and Ɛɛ. It's derived from coptic Ei (Ⲉⲉ), since it has the same sound as it ᒋſ was changed to Ƶƶ and was placed between Zz and Ʒʒ. ---[V3.2]--- The letter Ƞƞ was added with no phoneme and placed between Ħħ and Þþ. It's derived from greek Eta, since, come on, it would probably be the latin Eta if there was one. The letter ꓘ? was added as /q/ and placed between Kk and Жж. It's supposed to be a backwards Kk. (Really surprising, I know.) ---[V3.3]--- The letter Łℓ̶ was added as /ɬ/ and placed between Lℓ and L̢ℓ̢. It would have been Лл before the idea was scrapped, and the current characters would originally represent /ʎ/ instead. The accent ◌̌ was added to indicate velarization. The letter ꓤ̢ɻ was removed due to its similarity to ꓤɹ. ---[V3.4]--- The letter Ии was added as an allograph of Ii and placed between Þþ and the latter. It replaces an I at the end of a word that isn't possessive. With this addition, the uppercase letter for /t͡ɹ̝̊/ was changed to ഗ. The letters Ɩɩ and Ʊʊ were dropped and their phonemes /ɪ/ and /ʊ/ were merged into Ii and Uu respectively. The lowercase Y (y) and both Ys with hooks (Ƴƴ) have been changed into ү, У and y respectively. ---[V3.5] Stress allophones are no longer obligatory. (Note: New letters aren't going to be shown in the project itself, but they are still added to the alphabet anyway.)
ᗺ, ৪ and ᑫ are supposed to be thicker. Even though ഗտ is derived from San, it's supposed to play the role of semitic (more specifically hebrew) Tsade. Æ has variants that are supposed to be ligatures, but since they don't have accurate unicode characters, they are shown as A and Ɛ connected with a tiebar when typed and not written. Twastoni now has some shorthands: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/753054125/ This is not a note, I just wanted to show how to type "Llanfair PG" in the conlang: ŁÃV6ƳꓤPƱŁɊƖ̃GƖŁGØGƐRƏW̶ƖꓤDRØBƱŁANTƏSƖ⅄ØGƆGØGŌX.
