Most 5th gen fighter aircraft serve the niche role of flying far from the target and attacking only from a distance rather than dogfighting. However, the Ukrainian conflict has shown that despite this there is still a future for close on dogfighting, a role which so far only 3.5 and 4th gen fighters can fill. the F/A-62 aims to change this bringing the technological advances of 5th gen aircraft to the role of an aircraft such as the F/A-18 or F-16 i dont feel like writing anymore
