Today's project is about scatter: Scatter occurs whenever a blast template is used, a teleportation happens, or other effects occur. To check for scatter, roll a Scatter Dice (Represented in this project by the scatter button). On a direct hit (represented by the crosshair), do not move the blast template or teleportation marker from it's original location, and resolve it's effects normally. If it scatters (Represented by the arrow), move that marker in the indicated direction (It is best to ensure that the device being used is flat against the table surface), plus the 2D6 at the bottom, in inches. If this scatter occurs by using a ballistic weapon, you can subtract your Ballistic Skill (BS) from the 2D6 result. This may occur in a zero result, but not a negative one. Do not move the marker if the result is zero or negative. Then resolve the effects, if any.
This scatter device is inspired by Games Workshop's Horus Heresy, 1st and 2nd Edition. I claim no rights to this, and Horus Heresy and other warhammer properties are copyrighted by Games Workshop limited.
