Rubel felt awkward among Ruby and the others they only talked about things like training and previous adventures often leaving her out of the conversation she tried to fit in when they actually spoke to her but most of the time they were testing her and asking questions about her powers this not only confused her but frustrated her to no end not only that but they seemed to think they were her mentor making her practice different things the only one who didn't do this was Opal she often dissapeared and the others ignored it she once asked Ruby where she went and Ruby just replied saying "we don't know but she always turns up so we don't worry much" then she turned back to the trail Rubel sighed under the weight of her pack part of her was anxious to see The Cave of Stars another part was more focused on what in the world Opal was doing when she disappeared so one night when Opal walked off into the forest with her stuff Rubel secretly followed her they traveled to a clearing not far away Rubel watched from the bushes as Opal set her stuff down then meditated at the center of the clearing for a moment Opal stayed on the ground but then she started to float. five feet off the ground she stopped waited a few moments the turned and looked at Rubel her eyes were pure white "come out for in this state i can see all" Opals mouth did not move and the voice seemed to be in her head shocked Rubel exited the bushes and watched as Opal floated down back to the ground her changed back to having white irises instead of solid white eyes and she stood "i was hoping you would follow me" said Opal Rubel gulped "why?" she asked Opal sat down motioning for Rubel to sit down as well Rubel sat across from Opal ever-so-slightly suspicious Rubel repeated "why?" "well...ever since you showed up you have been trying to impress us but in all the wrong ways" Opal replied "what are the right ways then?" "we may all be only 18 years old but our minds are much older then that one of the side affects of having gone on so any adventures if you wish to impress us imagine we are your grandmother we will be more impressed by things you do then things you say" "so are you telling me to train while on this camping trip?" "yes and no what i'm saying is if you want to have only one mentor and not be as confused you need to use your powers after all a fire elemental can not control water" "what do you think i should do?" "that is up to you" Opal stood up signaling that the talk was over she grabbed her stuff and was about to exit the clearing when she turned to Rubel "it would be much more fun on my part if i had someone to train" then she disappeared into the trees Rubel sat there for a minute then an idea popped into her head she got up and called for Sunset Sunset rolled in the grass obviously happy a purr emanated from her Rubel smiled "get on up you lazy lump we have Elementals to find"
