This is a game about a (perhaps nearly) old man who travels into a dangerous sea filled with hostile sea creatures and rough mazes of rocks. (*MANUAL BELOW*) (*) Movement Press the arrow keys, and your player character and their boat will instantly turn into a direction and move. Note that the boat and character have separate hitboxes, and the character also has 2 hitboxes (that's 3 hitboxes in total. Each hitbox for one thing.) (*) Boat HP Your boat has an HP value that can be reduced by getting your character (not the boat) hit by an enemy projectile, or touching a maze wall. Run out of HP, and your boat will sink, and then it will be game over. (*) Maze The walls (will be referred to as rocks from now on) of the maze will damage your boat upon contact. If your character (not the boat) touches the rocks, then your boat and character will go back to their original position. (*) Enemies Each level has their own sea creatures/enemies. These enemies will shoot out projectiles in various speeds and forms. The projectiles will damage your boat IF they hit your character. However, the projectiles need to hit a separate hitbox in order for the hit to count. That hitbox is the purple, circular jewel that your character wears on a headpiece. Note that the ACTUAL hitbox is smaller than the sprite implies. In actuality, the hitbox is quite--maybe very--small. (*) Custom Alteration Settings The game actually doesn't activate until 3 seconds have passed. However, by pressing Space after 1 second, you can immediately start the game at level 1. These 3 seconds are for setting the level beforehand. This allows you to skip to a level of your choice. Just press the number key assigned to the level (e.g. press "1" for level 1, press "3" for level 3, etc). During gameplay, you can press "A" to take off your character's headpiece, and be invincible to walls and projectiles. Note that you may need a couple of tries to turn on "Invincibility mode", and that at the start of each level, you will need to turn it on again.
For my App Creators class. When you consider that this project is only for school, then I've spent an unhealthy, and likely unnecessary amount of time on this. I'm planning not to do this in the future. (but the question is whether I will commit to this plan) Also, there might be bugs in this game, since I don't think I have thoroughly tested the game.
