"Hey, Lemon Boy!" Smokefur raised his muzzle. Lemon Boy was his nickname, of course. Just his luck to get a name like that. Smokefur had been called Lemon Body when he was still a kittypet. But he was a warrior now - and they still called him Lemon Boy. ShadowClan was the best Clan, no doubt - but some of the cats in it were never letting go of that nickname. Scarletshine, the deputy of ShadowClan, glanced at him. "Smokefur, I want you to patrol the kittypet border," Scarletshine meowed. "They've been advancing, and you used to be with them, so maybe you can reason with them." Smokefur forced his fur flat with a nod and stood, only allowing a small growl of anger as he turned and darted through the trees ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Smokefur growled as the kittypet's jumped over their fence. "Oh, look," The kittypet's mocked. "It's Lemon Boy." "That's Smokefur to you," Smokefur retorted, lashing his long, dark tail. His yellow eyes gleamed as he glanced at his past friend, Lime. Lime had a glossy white pelt with green flecks, as he had a gray pelt with yellow flecks. Bat, a jet black tom, hurled himself at Smokefur with a yowl of anger and pinned him to the forest floor, claws unsheathed. Smokefur let out a yowl and thrashed wildly at the larger tom. "Get away from Lemon Boy!" Lime screeched, tossing herself at Bat. Bat hit the ground with a large thud, letting out an agonized yowl. Lime snarled, backing towards Smokefur. "Lime!" Smokefur panted, eyes wide. "You saved me! But . . Why? I left you here to join a Clan." "Because, Lemon Boy," Lime smiled. "It got boring, planting the seeds without you. And I really missed my citrus friend." Smokefur purred as he watched Bat dart away, the rest of the kittypets following. Lime flicked her own collar. "You don't suppose ShadowClan would like a new addition?" Lime meowed, smiling at Smokefur. "I'm sure it would be fine," Smokefur smiled. "I really missed you, Lemon Boy," Lime purred as they stood and began to walk through the pine forest to their home.
