“Take that hood off kiddo,” he said, looking backwards to his husband who was playing with their daughter, “We really would like to see the face of our savior!” Kyshio chuckled lightly, the tone in it obviously fake. He tugged on his hand, trying to pry it out of the man’s tight grasp. It wouldn’t budge. The man wasn’t going to let go. “I think I’m good thanks,” Kyshiro said as nicely but as firmly as he could. “Oh please,” the other man with Beau called from behind, “We really want to make sure our savior isn’t a hobo or whatnot, haha!” “Why… W-Why would that make a difference?” he asked cautiously, his heart picking up in unease. He felt as if a clock was going off in his head, his heart swirling around and around in circles. Something was twisting within, giggling and squirming. It curled around his heart, tiny little teeth nibbling into it, causing him to shiver. His little problem was also awake. Great. Just great. “I wouldn’t want my daughter to touch some ugly hobo,” the man continued casually, releasing Kyshio’s hand and shoulder at last. He almost stumbled at the sudden withdrawal of force, but managed to twist his feet firmly into the ground, steadying himself. “Sam’s not a hobo,” came Beau’s light voice, “he’s a really nice guy!” Kyshiro glanced past the man’s broad shoulders, seeing Beau and her other father jumping around in a playful circle, “Leave him be, daddy.” Kyshiro swore he saw an ugly expression on both of the fathers faces when those words were spoken. And there was also… Blinking rapidly, he ignored the endless ticking in his head and the chill in his chest. He grabbed the man’s forearm as he started to move away, his fingers lacing tightly around his wrist. The man spun around, a dangerous look in his eyes. There! A dangerous red gleam hidden deeply in the middle of that brown pupil. A spiral of swirling red. His eyes widened as he made sense of why everything about the two of these people was so wrong. They were corrupted. Kyshiro was sure of it even though he quite hadn’t seen it himself. He had enough pieces to put it together. His shadow’s eyes had gleaned red when he had been chasing a man down the hallways of a large building and the residues all appeared to have the same crimson pupils along with their wispy black shapes. Besides, a normal person’s eyes wouldn’t glow red directly in the middle just like that. Especially not in a spinning spiral. He snapped his head around his shoulders to look backwards at Aegi’s father, who was looking quite bewildered. His eyes shifted back and forth between the two of them. “Please don’ start a fight in my shop,” he sighed, shaking his head lightly, “I really don’ want-” “Get everyone out of here and into a different building,” Kyshiro interrupted in a harsh, husky voice. The pink clothed man jerked his head up, looking rather offronted. “Well excuse me-” “Please just listen to me,” Kyshiro said through gritted teeth, locking his eyes on both of the fathers, “These people are dangerous.” Beau was looking back and forth between everyone, looking rather frightened. “Samath, wha-” she started to say. “Get away from the girl,” he hissed dangerously at the man currently with Beau. He gave him a bewildered look, trying his best to look innocent. Kyshiro saw right through the act, able to sense the faint anger bubbling underneath his skin. He was too familiar with the feeling. Too familiar with pretending. “Release both of her fathers.” He didn’t know why they were here but he did know that he didn’t want anyone getting hurt. He only had seen the very minimal damage they could do and they could do it fast. Grinding his teeth, he added darkly, “And I suggest you do it now.” Obviously provoked, the dark skinned man lashed out angrily, “Listen here you little bastard.” He yanked his arm out of Kyshiro’s grasp, shaking it out, “I dunno if you’re doing this to us because you’re homophobic or just over all racist but-” Kyshiro cut him off, lifting his hood just a tiny little bit. The man’s eyes widened, stumbling backwards. “Holy…” He cut himself off, jerking back towards his husband, who was roughly grabbing Beau by the neck, dragging her sideways. She burst out wailing, tears falling down like fresh snow.
“Oh, that’s interesting.” The man dragging Beau muttered darkly though greedily, a large lopsided grin on his face, “Oooo…” Kyshiro let out a sigh, stuffing his hands in his pockets. They reacted the way he thought they would. He gulped, fingers tensing and untensing. Kyshiro puffed out a small breath, shaking his head. “Found who?” came the loud voice of Aegi’s father from behind them, breaking the tension awkwardly, “Samath? What do you need with Samat-” Before he could even finish, a massive shadow ripped itself out of the lighter skinned man’s head, erupting all over the ceiling. Shadows dripped downwards from the roof like goo, lifting the man into the air. He twisted and spun in horrible unnatural ways, the shadows spilling into his neck and lifting it off of his shoulders. His legs were snapped backwards violently, his knees being torn out by the dripping darkness. They seeped into his body, yanking his legs up and down. Bones crackled and snapped as they were brought right over his dangling head, attaching themselves to the ceiling. His neck spun around in a neat circle, his eyes widening and becoming large black holes with a simple gray circle right smack in the middle. His head turned upside down, greasy black hair falling downwards. “Pa?” Kyshiro jerked his head towards the lit hallway a few feet away. Aegi’s sandals hit the ground rhythmically, the boy’s worried steps getting louder as he neared, “Pops?” The corrupted person dangling from the ceiling started to walk forward like some sort of morbid spider, dismembered feet dangling from the shadowy veins like puppet hands. “Stay. Back,” Kyshiro snapped, his voice rough and harsh. The plaping of the sandals stopped upon the ground, softly squeaking. “Pa?” He nearly slapped his forehead as the boy continued to enter the main room anyway, sandals hitting the ground loudly, “What’s…” Aegi’s eyes shifted upwards to the morbid shadow dangling on the ceiling. His eyes widened and his body started to shake, “H-H-H-Huh?” he sputtered breathlessly, shifting backwards a tiny little step. “Get back,” Kyshiro snarled, eyes focusing on the small girl who was staring at her corrupted father. Her eyes were wide and full of tears, her small fingers clenched together so violently that they turned her entire hand white. He grit his teeth together, a cold bead of sweat rolling down his cheek. He didn’t know how to fight nor did he have any special skills. He was useless in every form to fight this monster (monsters if you count the other man, who’s head just fell off and was now being held in a shadowy hand protruding from his torso). He breathed in rapidly, calming his raging heart. Part 4: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/733142900 Part 6: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/733144988 (Almost to the end! XD)
