Ugh. Why does everyone have to have a cat OC? Wait, let me rephrase- why does everyone have to have a BAD cat OC? I'm going to devise this into sections because if I just start writing it's going to get messy. ---------------------------- Section 1- Design. ---------------------------- This one is probably the worst part. I don't mind unrealistic colours on characters, if anything I like them! HOWEVER- You should never, NEVER, have fully saturated colours on a character (Unless used at an extreme minimum, like eye colour). It hurts they eyes and clashes with all the other colours around it. (Unless said colour is white or black, but white or black with neon has been done too many times before.) Cats don't have emo hair. Messy forehead fur is fine, but an actual fringe is just- no. Also- RAINBOW EYES OR EYES THAT CHANGE COLOUR ARE A NO-NO. -------------------------------- Section 2- Backstory -------------------------------- Because everyone dying is so original and hasn't been done before. Neither has receiving a really obvious prophecy about a character that for some random reason no one has enough brain cells to figure out. Is my sarcasm self-explanatory, or do I need to go into detail? --------------------------------------- Section 3- Fan Characters --------------------------------------- I don't think anyone hates fan characters as much as I do. I only use fan characters for an rp or something, not as actual literal characters. These fan characters are usually bad, and belong to the warriors fandom (I'm a warriors fan, by the way, I'm not trying to bash the series or the fans). Keep in mind that warriors has a natural setting, so cats aren't going to be rainbow coloured. -------------------------------------- Well, I'm glad that's over. Keep in mind this is just my opinion. But, it also has some things that you should follow when it comes down to creating a cat character. Which you really shouldn't be doing, considering there are already too many "kawaii desu" cats on scratch right now. Heck, I have three cat characters.
