If this is your first time seeing Reality, this chapter may be a good one to check out. I know I usually say that you should read the previous ones, but this could be sort of a starter chapter, so enjoy. Waking up to my alarm clock early in the morning, I sprung out of my bed to turn it off. I quickly got dressed, and went out the door in no time at all. I heard about what happened with Felix yesterday, and haven’t had a chance to talk to him, until now. I walked up to his door and gave a knock, I heard no answer. “Felix, we need to talk!” I called through the door. A low groan followed. “It’s open.” I heard him say. I slowly opened the door to see him fully dressed and sitting at his desk. “You’re up earlier than usual.” I said, concerned. He looked at me with a tired face, “I didn’t sleep, this thing-“ He pointed to the collar around his neck, “-kept me up all night.” I saw bags under his half-closed eyes. “I’ll talk to Dr. Stern about it.” “Dr. Stern won’t listen, he’s too worried about the people coming.” He said, looking down at his desk. “Besides, I’m starting to get used to having it.” I saw that he was really tired, “How about you try to get some sleep?” “I’ll try.” He said as he stood up, and walked to his bed. After laying down, he became still as a stone. I took the blanket, and laid it over him. Then I left the room, closing the door behind me. Sitting in the cafeteria, I felt bored, I usually spend my time with Felix. I decided that I should go to Dr. Stern’s office after breakfast, to try to talk some sense into him. When I went to his office, I knocked on his door. After he invited me inside, I stood folding my arms in front of his desk “Dr. Stern, please don’t do this to Felix. He’s devastated.” I told him. “Not until we can trust him, he’s too unpredictable.” He said, not even bothering to look up from his work. Heat started to build up inside, “This is not the way we treat people!” I unfolding my arms, it was a bit louder then intended. He looked at me with a serious face while saying, “Well, ‘people’ is a nonspecific term. We don’t treat ‘humans’ that way, but Felix is a different matter.” Hearing that was like a bullet to my chest. “Felix and I are kin, I expect you to treat him that way.” He frowned, realizing what he said, “Of course, you’re different Emily.” he started to stammer. I decided that I should defend for Felix. “I see no difference in the way you should treat us, Felix should be treated just the same as me. He sacrificed so much to be here.” He sat back in his chair, and replied “You know why we can’t. He’s untrustworthy, and dangerous.” My fists clenched, “He’s the kindest person I know, and I trust him with my life.” Dr. Stern shook his head as he said, “Just because you trust him, that doesn’t mean we do. He wanted to invade our privacy. We aren’t taking the collar off, and that’s final. You had better not fight me on this.” I stormed out of his office, and went directly to my room, sitting down on my desk. ‘He’s being unreasonable, Felix doesn’t deserve this.’ I thought to myself, leaning back in my chair. 'He might be hard-headed, and nosey, but that doesn't make him dangerous.' I started to look around the room, trying to get my head straight. 'But what can I do? It's not like Stern will listen.' My head was bashed by many thoughts. 'Could Felix be right? I mean, look what they did to him, would they do the same to me?' I slowly stood up and walked to my bed, plopping onto the comfy mattress. Even though I slept well, I felt drained. 'Stern doesn't refer to us as people, after all we've done for him?' I felt so frustrated, I screamed into a pillow. After my screaming fit was done, a realization came to me, I quickly went to my desk, and wrote stuff on paper. Dinner had just past, and I sat next to Felix's bed. If there's one thing I learned today, is that he snores, loudly, I'm surprised he didn't wake himself. I poked his ear, and it flicked at me, I gave it a tug, and his hand swiped me. I rolled up the paper I had like a newspaper, and smacked his face with it. He jolted awake sitting up and saying, "No, I'm innocent-" I stood and closed his mouth before he made another sound, "Did you have a good sleep?" I asked releasing him. He yawned "Yeah, what time is it?" I was glad he was back to his senses, "It's past dinnertime." His eyes grew wide, "I was asleep for that long?" I nodded, unwrapping the paper, and pointing to it. It read, 'Dr. Stern was a no go, I think you may be right about the corporation, do you want my help getting out of this place, and that thing off your neck?' He looked at me with a smile, his tail gave a small wag as he quickly nodded. I flipped the paper over to reveal, 'I'll help you, we'll have to wait until the people come, but from now on, you need to stay low.'

Author's Note: If you don't know already, this is in Emily's POV. I actually thought of doing this a little while ago, to kind of add some originality, or something. I'm telling you, I read this 100 times over, slightly rewriting things each time, I always tend to do this, because I've got a LOT of self-doubt about my writing. I got to the point that while I was writing, I was slightly cheering Emily on. I wanted to add some funny parts to this, to kind of balance the seriousness. I actually asked one of my sisters what she does when she's frustrated, and apparently, screaming into a pillow clears her mind. Also, so you don't get confused, I forgot to tell Bumby that there's no flag on Emily's uniform, the corporation is not Government based. But the picture looks AMAZING either way! I actually want to give a special thanks to Stormy and Bumby, (@500-cats, and @Blizzy2) for helping keep my motivation high, and giving me a lot of my inspiration. The greatness of your stories, and the wonder of your art completely eclipse mine, and I greatly appreciate your kindness. To be honest, I sometimes wish this was a comic, but my art is pretty bad, and unpracticed.
