a message from the k̶i̶n̶g̶ sky ;) - disclaimer: I am not targeting anyone through this <3 if you're an honorary in the upcoming session, please read through this carefully and decide if you're following these rules or not, and what you can do about it. in recent sessions, swc honoraries have changed. while before, it was largely casual, honoraries have quickly become a much more talked-about part of our writing community. we've noticed a bit of confusion on the role of honoraries nowadays, so here's some clarification on that front. in an aim to maintain peace and good vibes, we not-tyrants (/ref) are introducing some new rules - and restating a few old ones. ☆ who are honoraries, and what do they do? an honorary is an unofficial member of a swc cabin; a friend of a co/leader who is not a swc participant that session, but there at the leader's request. to be an honorary of a swc cabin, one must ... - not be a participating camper or co/leader - have participated in at least one previous session - have been invited by a leader. asking to be an honorary is *not* allowed. they must ask you. honoraries CAN: boost morale, provide support, be a part of the storyline, make matching profile pictures, thumbnails, aesthetic sets and other graphic-design relates tasks. honoraries CANNOT: write words towards the cabin total, help with adding words, write descriptions, develop the storyline, be involved in planning, have access to individual cabin planning spaces, or anything else that could be classified as a camper or leader task. this november session and onwards, they may not be listed in the cabin description ^^ they are, however, allowed to curate their cabin's studio. we discourage honorary hangout studios and the like, but ultimately, if you choose to make one, we can't stop you :) you do not necessarily have to be an honorary to give words of encouragement or hang around a cabin that is not yours. if you're interested in being part of another cabin's storyline or activities, you can ask the leader if you may partake. **this does not make you an honorary.** leaders may accept or decline your offer, depending on how restricted they are to the campers of that cabin ^^ TL;DR - honoraries must be invited. they are not considered as either a leader or camper and they may not perform such duties. - if you're interested in participating in another cabin's storyline without being a camper, you can ask the leader if you can hang around ^^ honoraries and camper-honoraries are absolutely not compulsory! but if a leader would like to have them for storyline or motivational purposes, they're welcome to :) - thanks to the other hosts for their many contributions, and birdi for writing out the new definition of honorary <3
