I have had a friend of mine explain what it is like to have ADHD, and some facts. Creds to them !! @injustiice . 1. hyperfixation: also known as 'obsession'. we usually get obsessed / fixated on one specific thing and its usually the only thing we think abt for a long time ( e.g. as u can tell rn its kpop for me ). its really difficult for us to keep it to ourselves, and we tend to talk to others about it a lot. this usually leads to people getting really annoyed at us for talking about it all the time. but really hyperfixation is a coping mechanism for the anxiety that usually comes w adhd 2. a spiral of thoughts that come from one trigger word. e.g. pineapple -> spongebob -> sponges -> that one minecraft prank with the sponge in water -> my sister thats obsessed w minecraft -> my sister -> her birthday is soon -> gifts to get her for her birthday -> a new ipad -> that one ipad i smashed w a hammer when i was 5 -> the philippines ( because i was there wehn i was 5 ) and so on 3. hyperfocus. its basically when we get so focused / absorbed into a specific thing and its like theres absolutely ntohing else but that one thing. you end up losing track of everything else. and it usually lasts for a really long time i wouldnt say adhd is a lack of focus, i would say its more of a struggle regulating focus levels. we can focus hard on things we're interested in and if we're not interested, we have zero focus at all. an example of hyperfocus ( for me personally ) is when i work on art or a powerpoint or anything fun. on saturday, i was working on artwork of felix lee, and i kid you not, nothing stopped me. as soon as i woke up, i worked on it, i ate breakfast, did my chores and straight back to the art until lunchtime. again, i ate, did my chores and went straight back to the art. same thing with dinner too, and i didnt go to bed until 3 am working on the art.
