Instructions on how to play the game: Movement: WASD or Arrow Keys. Interact: E to open doors and clear objectives. Slide: Press S or Down Arrow while moving. Dive: Same as slide but in the air, gain extra height. Pause: Press P to access the menu and swap Nextbots. Stats: Press \ to check your current score. Professional Climbing Climbing is a bit... temperamental. To scale walls: Mount: Hold the movement key toward the wall (e.g., hold D if the wall is on your right). Ascend: Press W or Up to climb. This uses invisible stamina. Dismount/Wall Jump: While on the wall, press W and then immediately tap the opposite direction key to leap off. Tip: You don't regain stamina until you touch the ground and the stamina is frankly little to none. You can "cheese" this by wall-jumping to gain way more height than you're supposed to. Utilities (Keys 1-5) Soda: Speed boost. Use it when they're breathing down your neck. Radar: Shows Nextbot locations. (Blatantly OP, use it while you can). Mine: Explodes on contact, stunning bots for ~8 seconds. [Place holder]: Currently under construction. Pistol: Zero damage, but resets Nextbot velocity to slow them down. Known Issues: Ceiling Crawlers: Nextbots may occasionally decide they are spiders and get stuck on the ceiling. Teleportation: After being stunned, the next bots might decide to use admin privileges and and teleport directly to your location. Good luck. Wall Phasing: If you stop sliding while inside a "slidable hole" the wall will claim you as its own. You are now part of the architecture.
Read this before playing. I’m releasing this project in its current state because, frankly, looking at the code makes my brain hurt. This project was built on a foundation of "I hope this works," and now that it’s grown, it has become a delicate house of cards. Why I’m stopping here: Every time I try to fix a bug, three more appear. I tried to add "Air Diving," and the character started having a mid-life crisis when they slide, flickering between two poses like a strobe light. I tried to balance the speed, and the physics engine decided to retire. The code is a genuine disaster zone that I no longer recognize. If you find a bug, just know that it's probably a "feature" now because touching it might cause the entire game to delete itself. I'm moving on to other languages to build something that actually follows the laws of logic. Enjoy the chaos. Don't get stuck in the walls.
