hai guys its ya girl elm i know i don't post much but here we are with some art tips cos why not. oh yea quick disclaimer: my advice comes from experience and won't always be helpful or exactly accurate. please receive advice from more than one source. hope this helps tho!! ^^ ok here we goooo - DON'T PAY FOR ART CLASSES!!!! (unless your teacher is a great one) use the internet as a source for knowledge instead; it wastes less money. (also, art class wasn't very helpful to me ^^;) youtube is a great alternative for lessons!!! you can find all sorts of good advice and references there. speaking of references... - use references!! such as photos, yourself, random objects, etc. references are a big, big life saver when you don't know how to draw something. you can never be too sure! - try to draw often!! practice makes perfect!! - take breaks!! please do.. don't burn yourself out!! - art block? PUNCH IT IN THE FACE!! >:^0 ok but seriously here are a couple of art block related tips. + draw things you love! it might bring some inspiration or confidence. + look at other artists' works. visit an art museum or maybe just go on pinterest. + pretend you don't have art block. - are you insecure about your art?? remember that.. + you will get better!! + no artists start out strong and perfect. nobody does in anything really. + from other people's perspective, your art is probably more beautiful than how you see it. <3 - draw what you love but also make sure to work on your weaknesses. hey, maybe it will become a strength!! - PRACTICE ANATOMY!!! PLEASE DO!!! YES THIS APPLIES TO CARTOONY ART STYLES TOO!!! - participate in art fight!! it's fun and a good way to experiment with your art!! (you have to be 13+ to make an account, though) - try to draw digitally and traditionally (on paper) at the same time!! both skills will surely be useful as an artist. that's pretty much it. maybe i'll add more tips later. ok bye bye have a good day/night person
