Map of the world in the Mollweide projection, showing national borders and some subdivisions
The Mollweide projection (invented 1805 by Karl Mollweide) projects the world into a 2:1 ellipse, with the most distortion around the edges and poles although it is an equal-area projection. Disputed boundaries are not shown for clarity, however I decided to show Taiwan, Kosovo, and Palestine as independent nations. I choose not to show all subdivisions due to space restraints, but I showed most subdivisions of large countries. Current subdivisions shown: Canada (provinces, territories) United States (states) Mexico (states, CDMX) Brazil (states, FD) Argentina (provinces) United Kingdom (countries) Russia (oblasts, krais, republics, AOs, cities) China (provinces, ARs, cities, SARs) India (states, union territories) Pakistan (provinces) Australia (states, territories) South Africa (provinces) Resources: XO Maenadicus | TOAST3R 1.4 "Earth" https://www.deviantart.com/mfahdiscord/art/TOAST3R-1-4-Earth-715523610 **Denmark, Ukraine, and Tanzania colors modified Koenb | World borders mollweide https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:World_borders_mollweide.png Strebe | Mollweide projection SW https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mollweide_projection_SW.jpg PSU | Interactive Album of Map Projections 2.0 https://projections.mgis.psu.edu/ David Rumsey | Mollweide Projection: Sections 1-24 Henze's Erd-Globus https://www.davidrumsey.com/luna/servlet/detail/RUMSEY~8~1~330442~90099290:Mollweide-Projection--Sections-1-24
