aptitude and experience are stat points unique to a character, so they reset when a character dies. they do not matter to starclan characters. aptitude and experience, as a total, can determine roles in the future, outcomes of fights, etc. this is for CLAN CATS, loner/kittypet exp is in their own guide. [ aptitude ] aptitude can only be earned as a kit. the litter must be full and registered before a kit can earn aptitude, or 'apt' please note that aptitude is the capacity to learn, not the actual learning. a kit still has zero experience. a kit with 10000 medical aptitude still doesn't know the medical uses of lavender or how to heal a cut. upon apprenticeship, aptitude turns into experience. (so a kit with 3 warrior aptitude will be an app with 3 warrior experience after the ceremony.) MEDIC APT -- medic apt is used for when a medic decides they are ready for an apprentice. when they request information, the highrank coordinator will give them a list of five kits with the highest medic aptitude in the clan, and they will select a kit from it. :] -- 6 moon old apprentices also keep their medic apt, but lose it at 8 moons. DO NOT ASK THE MEDIC TO BE MEDIC APP. you'll get auto-rejected <3 DO NOT HINT AT, OR PRESSURE THE MEDIC TO BE MEDIC APP. in fact! don't even talk about being the medic app with the medic if you have a kit character! don't say crap like "xkit perfectly sorted all the herbs. it seemed like they were destined to be a medic!!!" like nawwww you can earn medic aptitude by: - roleplaying with a dead relative (+1) ((do this in the clan studio and CLARIFY) - playing with non-mossball plants (+1) - listen to an elder's story (+1) (make sure to clarify that it is an elder ur talking to) - talk with a medic (+1) (make sure to clarify that it is a medic ur talking to) - getting an injury/sickness healed by a medic (+3) - sneaking out of camp and surviving (+8) [roll on the rolling project] WARRIOR APT -- nothing really special, but itll help in the future since apt becomes exp after an age up! you can earn warrior aptitude by (clan kits only, check with the loner guide for non-clan cats): - playing any kit game with any cat (+1) - listen to an elder's story (+1) (make sure to clarify its an elder ur talking to inrp) - bug-catching (cannot be an srp) (+1) - talking with the deputy (+1) (make sure to clarify its a deputy ur talking to inrp) - playfight with another kit and win (+1) - real fight with another kit and win (+3) - sneaking out of camp and surviving (+8) [roll on the rolling project]
[ experience ] experience is for the most part only earned as an apprentice - your aptitude is a base sum to your experience. so if you are a kit who graduated with 8 warrior aptitude points, you will start with 8 experience points. once you become an apprentice, your aptitude for the other role with disappear. (so if you are a warriors apprentice, you will no longer have medic aptitude/experience) EXPERIENCE has two categories for both that helps in different scenarios! Experience you earn will go to an "unused point" category in the bio project, so make sure to tell the bio project where you want your points to be placed! NOTE that training or talking with a mentor has to be specifically reported on this project as it's too hard for volunteers to keep track of! :) https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/967964453 MEDIC EXPERIENCE you can earn medic experience by: ((MAKE SURE TO CLARIFY CLEARLY YOURE A MEDIC APP IN ALL ROLEPLAYS TO MAKE IT EASIER ON THE COUNTERS)) - talking with your mentor (+1) (report on the mentor/app exp reporting project) - healing a cat unsuccessfully (+1) - having a dream with a ghost (+1) (ghost mentors do not count) - talking with other highranks besides your mentor (+1) (clarify the person you are talking to is a highrank in the roleplay thread) - herb-collecting (+1) - training with your mentor (+2) (report on mentor/app exp training project) - healing a cat successfully (+3) the two categories you can place medic exp in are HEALING and STARGAZING [name in progress i dont know what to call it ] HEALING helps with.. healing cats and is used in the healing calculator STARGAZING helps with your affinity with starclan or the dark forest. will enable you to share dreams with cats you aren't related to. in the case of a prophecy event, only medics with high stargazing points will receive it. also allows you visit more ghosts during medic meetings. warrior experience may be used to determine deputy roles (those with top 5 warrior experience are candidates!) as well as many saving rolls. you can earn warrior experience by: - practice a clan trait (has to be YOUR clan) (mc: climbing/digging fc: crafting/poetry uc: swimming/bouldering) (+1) - training with another apprentice (+1) - talking with a cat from outside the Clan (+1) * * if you are doing it with the same cat over and over, intentional meetup rolls must be done. no you can not "happen to run into each other" like 700 times - doing apprentice chores (i.e. elder ticks) (+1) - training with your mentor (+2) - fighting a predator successfully (+5) [ predators u got randomly rolled to fight (i.e. safety fail) do not count for exp ] -- an easy source for predators is the weekly predator people :) - fighting a cat and winning (+5) the two categories you can place warrior exp in are FIGHTING and STEALTH (your total experience is what is used for deputy eligibility calculation) FIGHTING is used for battles and fights STEALTH is used for stealth rolls (sneaking, spying, trespassing, etc.) Please note you may only earn a MAXIMUM of 150 exp total. Do not feel pressured to reach this, this is just an upper limit. You also need to manually tell storage where you want your experience! Don't forget! Only experience listed in storage counts for all rolls, no matter what, so please make sure your experience in storage is accurate BEFORE doing rolls and signing up for events. GAINING EXP AS AN ADULT: There are very intentionally not many ways to gain apt/exp as a warrior but here are the ways that DO exist (most are not limited to ONLY adults but) - training your apprentice (+1 per training rp) - going on an expedition (+3 for adults) - weekly quests (+1 per quest) - ghost mentors (+1 per training rp, +2 if they have the extra exp ghost power) - weekly predator (+3 for adults)
