A game recording an experiment led by Bastet Co. Watch/play a cat collect falling objects via a bottomless bowl. (*) Movement Move quickly and swiftly (like a cat) with the left or right arrow keys. You can dash by pressing space and the direction you wish to dash in (e.g. space + left key for dashing left). (*) Falling objects There will be various falling objects that fall down (what a surprise!) Their falling speed is dependent on Rank. Having your character sprite touch the falling object will add 1 to your Score, and increase Score+ by 1 (all of these counters are explained later). Additionally, letting a falling object hit the ground will decrease Score+ by 5. (*) Lasers Lasers will appear on various occasions. The hitbox for these lasers aren't active until they have fully materialized (i.e. completely solid). The hitbox is also inactive when disappearing. (Make sure you know all of that; this is HUGE advice on maintaining score!) To assist the player, the lasers will play a particular sound effect when appearing and disappearing. Approximately, your character's head needs to hit the laser in order for a hit to count. Getting hit by a laser will decrease Score+ by 15, and render your character frozen for a while. At Rank 7, lasers will appear more often, and in numerous numbers. Be careful! (Especially when your character has THAT much agility!) (*) Counters Score - Counts how many falling objects are caught. Catch as many as you can! Score+ - Counts how much falling objects you have caught too. However, every time this counter exceeds 5, your Rank will increase by 1. If it exceeds 0, Rank will also decrease by 1. Note that Score+ does not have a limit during Rank 9. By the end of the game, if the Rank is at 9, this counter will be added to your score (It DOES count the amount of objects you've caught after all!) Rank - Controls the waiting time of lasers and falling objects. Also controls the speed of falling objects. Dash Cooldown - This is the counter below Rank. Controls the cooldown between dashes. Note that touching a laser at the end of a dash will set your cooldown to 5 (perhaps you can hit the laser with your arm instead of your head). Normal cooldown is 15. The value of Dash Cooldown--after triggered--is decreased per frame (I think). Note: Your player character will meow a high-pitched one when the Dash Cooldown is finished. However, falling objects, and your player character getting hit by a laser will ALSO play a meow sound effect, albeit, a low-pitched meow. (*) Clock ticks The counter at the center top of the screen is the amount of time you can play for. It ticks down for 60 seconds. Once the timer reaches 0, the game is over. Make sure to get a good score before the timer is up!
For App Creators. This project is PROBABLY my second to last one on this account. 12/2/23 - second to last project? LMAO FAR FROM IT! also editing instructions. 12/2/23 - optimized a bit of code and slightly slowed down move speed
