(warning: disturbing, heavy themes, death, violence) preferred name: Penelope Apet Pronouns: Xe/Her preferred but She/Her is fine Sexuality: Pansexual Age: unknown, born in Ancient Egypt Powers: People xe are angry at die the next day, draining someone's sanity heals them, doesn't age, face changes depending on emotion Backstory: Penelope is so old xe can't even remember where she grew up. But xe does remember how her mother and parent met in the ancient Egyptian era somewhere near Cairo. Her mother was an odd lady, a con artist. She often scared people into giving "offerings" by telling fake tales that she had talked to the Egyptian deities such as Ra and Anubis. But one day she saw a 13ft tall humanoid alien with a raven skull like head. She actually thought this creature was one of the Egyptian deities, that was until she learned that the creature was named Dayelmortuus (They/Them, goes by Morty), who was wrongfully banished from Xenos, their home planet. And though Morty is technically a god, they were not what Penelope's mother thought they were. Anyways, Morty and Penelope's mom first noticed that the kid was different as soon as xe started growing hair, which was teal and pink naturally. Also, her nails were more like talons... just like Morty's. Penelope didn't know what xe was until xe was about 14 years old, and it broke her. Xe didn't want to be a demi-god, xe didn't want powers, and xe ran from home into the pyramids to calm down, but when xe returned home a day later xe found her mother dead, and Morty sobbing. "MOM!?" Penelope screamed. "She's gone! I-I don't know what ****ing happened" Morty was staring down at their lover's bleeding body. Then Penelope was frightened. "I-I think I killed her...." Penelope started to cry. Morty sighed. "****, your power must've done this!" they said. "My power?" Penelope asked. "When you get mad at a mortal... they are doomed to die tragically the next day. When you get mad at someone such as myself... someone they love dies" Morty explained. "S-s-so I cursed her!?" Penelope couldn't process this. "This is not a controllable power, it's not your fault... mine is worse" Morty was trying not to swear or joke, which was their coping mechanism, so they felt worse. "What is it?" Penelope asked. "I don't want to freak you out... it's ****ing terrifying,". They sighed. "In addition to all of my bringing back and talking to the dead and time changing and being ****ing huge and blah blah blah, I have the ability to not just kill someone horribly, but to deny them passage to the afterlife and leave their soul tortured for eternity" Morty explained. "What do we do?" Penelope asked. "Walk this world alone". By 1900, Penelope fell in love with a young girl gamed Julie Mason (She/Her). Little did xe know that Julie was really trying to use Penelope's power to murder people without getting her hands dirty, and was secretly sneaking pills into the food to make Penelope easier to anger. Morty, who was in America while Penelope was in England, didn't know of this. Then Penelope found out, and got angry at Julie, who the next day died after getting shot by police who were trying to arrest her. Penelope was angry at Morty for not being there to intervene, and still is, which cursed Morty so that they know that someone they love will die tragically, and it could happen at any given moment. Penelope went completely insane after a century of being totally alone, and was angry at the world, which made 10x the amount of people die every day, but got the help she needed and learned to control her psychotic tendencies. Fast forward to 2000, a 20 year old who was smarter than anyone ever existed came into play. His name was Elijah Crane (He/They). Crane had come with a message from Morty. He knew that making Penelope angry could kill him, but he owed it to his dear friend, who was currently battling depression and addiction. He knocked on the door to Penelope's residence. Xe opened the door. "Um, hello... who are you?" xe asked, trying to stop herself from thinking about murdering the one at their doorstep. "I-I'm running an errand for your parent... they would've come themselves but they.... they are hurt bad and need time to heal... mentally and physically" Crane tried to appear brave, but he was always anxious even around his friends. "Why would they be hurt enough to ****ing come themselves" xe snapped. "They were coming, but it was bad... they were shot in the spine and in the heart... if they weren't immortal they'd be in the morgue," Crane could see why Penelope was angry... but even Morty couldn't know everything. "How bad are they hurt... I hope it was a lot," Penelope asked. "Bedridden, will be for a couple days, but here's the thing... they let themselves be shot... ever since they found out what happened... they've been... not taking care of themselves. Truth is, I came because I can't bear to see them in pain anymore"
(note: Crane doesn't have a crush on Morty, Crane is gay and Morty is assigned female at birth. Just clearing that up before anyone has any ideas...). "Where are they?" Penelope asked. "In the semi parked over there, they wanted to surprise you, but they didn't think you'd want to talk to them". Penelope didn't, but xe remembered the words her psychiatrist said. "If you face something that you are afraid or mad at, it won't bother you anymore,". So reluctantly xe walked into the semi. "You look awful..." Xe said. "****! I'm so sorry". Penelope eyed their parent. "What happened... you're a total wreck" xe asked. "I found love in 1960... she died in 1990... and then I found out what happened to you... I should've been there". Penelope earned back her sanity and rebuilt her relationship with her parent, things were the way they were before, they never left each other. But on 7:39pm December 31st 2022, the mangling happened, and everything changed. Penelope was one of the 10% of humanity that survived the nuclear war, but her eyes turned the colour of her hair... and her sanity declined even worse than it had before... and her power became greater. Penelope had lost love for everything... and her moral code. Xe set off killing... and killing... and killing... worse yet... Penelope had also hurt people that Morty cared about. After that Morty had to put an end to it. On January 4th 2023, Penelope had set out to attempt to assassinate Morty's new wife Geneva (aka Madam Hotline) and their kids, but Morty was there. Penelope shot Hotline in the leg, which set Morty into a frenzy, and they didn't kill Penelope, but Penelope was paralyzed from the waist down after suffering an injured spine. Morty had to much love for who their daughter once was to kill her now. Then Penelope discovered a new power the Mangling had given her. Xe could heal herself by draining sanity from injured people. About a month later... Penelope had full function in her legs again... and Hotline's went completely insane. May 17th 2023, Morty discovered that it wasn't the tough times that drove Hotline insane, it was Penelope. And they've finally realized that Penelope was gone... and whatever shell was left had to be put out of its misery. But here's the thing... Penelope was still their daughter, and they didn't want to hurt Penelope, even though they knew they had no choice. So they cursed her, kind of like a shock collar, xe would have a migraine if xe tried to kill someone. But Penelope was so far gone that xe enjoyed the pain, and Morty realized that on June 1st 2023. Knowing that Penelope had to be put out of her misery, after a few mental breakdowns and drinks they realized the best thing they could do is have Penelope go peacefully, so they placed another curse. The next time Morty and Penelope crossed paths Penelope would die peacefully in the arms of her parent. Morty cursed under their breath and cried as they created the curse, but then they thought of what young Ancient Egyptian era Penelope would have wanted. "My Penelope would rather die than become this..." Morty told themselves. But they dread the day that Penelope and them cross paths. I make too many insane characters...
