Remix to sign. I have been a victim of said animal abuse. When I was 7, I went to my grandma's house. My aunt got a pet parrot for me. I told her I really liked parrots. He always screeched in the night. So the maid put a towel on his cage. He just needed food. His screeching got worse and worse and she got more annoyed. She shaked his cage. He was getting hurt. Mentally and physically. Finally, she put his cage in the closet where I put all my suitcases and stuff like that. No one ever goes in there. She went in there occasionally to give him food. I took him out at night when she wasn't working and gave him a lot of food I found. I put him back in the closet with some food for the night (she works in the day). I took him out to play and our bond grew tighter and tighter. Then I had to go back to America because it was the end of summer (I only went there for the summer). Then my grandma Skyped me every now and then to tell me what's going on with him. Then one day, the maid released him from his cage. Outside. It was very sad because we were very close together and now I'll never be able to see him again. He also had his wings clipped + he was a little baby. To make all of this worse. A stray cat always roams around my grandma's home. She (the cat) wanted to eat my parrot. He couldn't fly away so the cat had probably eaten him. I just know he's not in good shape. It's been 5 years since then and it still makes me sad. I will never forget the day that I helped my Aunt take out the grocery from the trunk of her minivan only to see a little rainbow-colored baby bird. I hugged her for 3 minutes straight because I've always wanted a pet. He ate anything and my grandma's guard (also common along with a driver) would put a towel under his cage so when he did his business it wouldn't flood my grandma's house. It was the saddest day ever and when I go back to Asia, I will take care of the stray cat. I don't want any animal to suffer from the same that my grandma's maid put my parrot through. It was one of the saddest parts of my life.
Many animals are killed for the sole purpose of comfort. Think twice about buying that fur coat. Seriously. Many animals are killed because they are going to be made into an article of clothing. Many animals are killed because they are a danger to other animals that are important for the world. Like fish. People kill fish just for the food. Food is an important part of life. For humans and for animals. When animals are killed then other animals die. Animals are abused for no reason. Psychotic people are the ones who abuse. The animals (mainly domestic) are the most abused. Most have already been abused. What I mean is that they have been taken away from their families and then left stranded unless a rescue team takes them to a rescue shelter. They have been scarred. Taken from their family. Not knowing if they will ever be back with them. They then think they will be back with their people when they are adopted. Every year sadly 1M animals are killed every year in the U.S. alone. They are victims of life. They are not so lucky because there is no way for them to "meet fate" by themselves. They need to have the pain filled way every day. They are killed every day. It is very sad. Many animals are very slowly being killed and no one cares. Sure, there are some happy parts of this, like the panda who recently gave birth to two very adorable baby pandas. When people die, people care. When animals die, no one seems to care. 60M people died in WWII. Very harsh. But most of that was the Axis (enemies if you don't know a lot about war). That is a good thing. But the animals... no one cares. They are being abused and no one cares. I once saw a video of someone beating a fake dog. No one except for 1 lady helped and said "STOP!!!!" Others just walked by and 2 men (no sexism) helped him beat the dog. Humanity is getting worse. Here is the link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOaMYFmpuVo But also sometimes animals are ran over. Especially animals like opossums and raccoons that are small or can't be seen in the night. This is very tragic as people need to actually pay attention to where they are driving. Drunk driving and TWD (texting while driving) are the main parts. My bus driver one day ran over a squirrel and it lost its tail. Everyone except the "cool kids" were crying. I was sad, but I couldn't show it for some reason. It was a very sad day indeed.
