Toad walked towards Hiddenclan, keeping to the shadows. Two cats, a black she-cat and a gray tom, were talking to each other. "Be quiet." The she-cat said. "Someone is here." "Soulpounce, no one is here." The gray tom said. Soulpounce sighed. "Have I ever been wrong?" "No..." The tom said. "Exactly." The tom stopped talking, and the two of them started looking for Toad. Toad crept away, knowing Soulpounce might find him soon. The tom... he wasn't worried about. "Stonepelt! Look!" Soulpounce hissed, pointing to Toad. Toad stopped moving. "What..." Stonepelt asked. "How did you even become a warrior?" Soulpounce snapped back at him. "The brown tom standing RIGHT THERE!" Soulpounce again, pointed to Toad. "I don't see him." Stonepelt said. Soulpounce slapped her face. "Are you doing okay Souly?" Stonepelt asked. "Don't call me that!" Soulpounce snapped at him. "Why not?" Stonepelt asked. Soulpounce hissed like she was breathing. In and out, in and out, in and out. "Souly, don't be mad." Stonepelt said, sounding a little sad. "Don't call me that!" Soulpounce yelled at him, then sighed. "Never mind. You continue looking. I'll go 'talk' to him." Soulpounce walked up to Toad. "Why are you here, loner?" Toad bristled. "Because I can be." Soulpounce hissed. "What's your name, loner?" "Toad." Toad said quietly. "Okay, Toad. Were you sent by another clan?" She asked. "No." Toad said truthfully. "Then why are you here!" She cried, exasperated. "Because." Toad said simply. "Answer me now or get captured. Why are you here?" Soulpounce said, trying to sound calm. Toad just smiled. "Because... Souly." Soulpounce howled with rage and knocked him out. When he woke up, Soulpounce and a cat he knew the name of but he'd never met, stood at the bars of the cell. Toad sprung at the bars but fell back, blood in his mouth. "Sorry, Toadie." Littlestar said in a singsong voice, "But these bars... you can't just pounce at them and expect them to break." "Why... am I here?" Toad asked. "Because you never told us why you're here." Soulpounce said, and the two walked away.
