WASD key and arrow keys should be used in order to move the player. 0 key for editor mode. And E in the editor mode to have the tile as your brush that is under your mouse pointer. 1, 2 and 3 keys to change the layer you are editing in and you also get onion skinning when you press the layer keys twice.
