Press space to change the variables, and space to stop editing them. keep your mouse in one spot for a few seconds, because it takes time to load. the Lower the size/speed variable is, the slower it will load. Use turbo mode. Also, if you set your size/speed high, and your loop amount over 6, it doesn't look very good. I recommend only setting one high at a time. C to clear. S to stop and start.
