Moon has a lot of childhood trauma. For instance, her smaller brother was hit by a monster while crossing a Thunderpath. While trying to save him, her ear was torn off by a monster. She's seen him in StarClan multiple times in her dreams. Her parents told her that she knocked him down when they were crossing the Thunderpath on purpose, even though they were play fighting by one, and he fell. When her parents finally joined StarClan, (no, not the Dark Forest or The Place with No Stars, they were still loyal to the warrior code) she had no one left. As a medicine cat in Shadowclan, with no mate, her life was a little lonely. Basically, she's been scared of Thunderpaths her whole life, devastated that her brother joined StarClan as a kit and because of how he passed away, a Twoleg. Thunderpath= road/street Twoleg= human Dark Forest= H3ll Starclan= Heaven Monster= car/truck
