Loyalty rarely leads to a cat's demise, but for poor Questduel, it just might. Every decision he makes is based on loyalty. Wether it be to his siblings, his family, or his closest friends. He doesn't care if it means doing something he doesn't believe in. Just as long as he can have the cats he cares about by his side, that'll be enough for him. But perhaps this is a flaw more than it is a positive trait. Questduel doesn't have much empathy towards cats that aren't in his circle, and he'll willingly betray them for cats who are. Some might see this as heartless. Even if you aren't close to a cat, it doesn't mean you have to ruin their chances of success. But Questduel thinks otherwise. He doesn't understand those who won't put their family over their own personal comfort and reputation. Because in the end, those are the cats who will stick by you. Friendships can vanish at any second. Family can't. Perhaps, deep down, he's a selfish cat, even if he refuses to acknowledge it. No, that's wrong. He definitely is, even Questduel can't deny that. He wants to be at the top more than anything else. To have that much fame? That much security? He'd do anything for it. For crying out loud, he'd cut his own tail off if it meant he wouldn't be forgotten as just an average cat! While most might look at this as being ambitious, which in a way it is, it's also beyond that. Desperation flows through his veins as much as blood does, maybe even more. Questduel puts too much pressure on himself to be great. To be loyal. To be something worthy of cats who care about him as much as he cares for them. The truth is, he'll never get that. He experiences so much love for others that it's impossible for them to match it. Pressure surrounds him like a caterpillar in a cocoon. He's not quite sure where it comes from; he's never had to prove himself before. Nobody has ever publically questioned his worth, and yet he trades dreams for experience, sleep for training. Hunting moves. Battle moves. Defensive moves. Learning as much as possible. Everything under the sun, and beyond that. No amount of intelligence will ever be enough for him. Discovering everything is the only true way that he can protect those close to him. Because when the time comes down to it, and he fails to keep his family from harm once again..? He doesn't know if he could ever recover from that. Failure is something he's absolutely terrified of, but Questduel is mostly confident, and while he doesn't often doubt his skills, when he does it hits him hard. He'll start going down a self-depreciating spiral until something (or someone) snaps him out of it, and then he'll be back to his regular confident self. Questduel appears as being very mature for his age. He can fully understand more intense subjects than the average young warrior can, and as a kit it was extremely rare to see him playing any games. This is mostly because he felt as if he 'lost his kithood' after getting shipwrecked, and there's no use in trying to regain something about himself that he believes is long gone. In truth, Questduel is very immature. He's convinced himself that if he can put up a front, to be something that he's not, then maybe one day it'll come true. It hasn't failed him yet, after all. But if you were to look closely, you'd notice how his choices are similar to those of a toddler with separation anxiety, who had to attend his first day of school. Even if he is immature, Questduel is very serious. He has trouble understanding things that are jokes, taking everything more or less at face value unless he knows the cat well. All that he wants is approval. From who? He's not sure. He won't beg for it, though. If he did, then the approval would mean nothing. He has to earn it through hard work, only then will it be 'real'. Maybe that's why he's so jealous of those who recieve praise easily. He can't help but wonder if cats took that much notice to him, if they realized the amount of effort that he put into everything, then would he be praised all the time too? He may never know the answer. So instead, he searches endlessly for satisfaction in the unhealthiest of habits.
Passionate about niche things, Questduel's interests will commonly change but they will almost always revolve around skills. Though, one passion that will never be switched for another is observing cats. He's almost concerningly talented at it to the point he started noticing the subtle movements of others without trying to, and he's more often than not able to figure out when someone's lying to him. Ironically enough, Questduel has an extremely low emotional intelligence when it comes to his own feelings. He finds it incredibly difficult to understand what he's feeling when it comes to the more intense type of emotions, which often causes him to act out and commit acts that betray his true feelings. That being said, Questduel's an over-planner. If he's in a situation where he has to plan for something, he'll create so many complicated plans that he'll end up having backup plans for his backup plans. Better safe than sorry, right? Questduel is a cat who's easily frustrated, and more often than not he'll try to solve his problems with violence instead of words. It's not that he finds joy in the pain of others, unless they've truely wronged his family, but it's that he thinks words won't do him any good. When he was drowning, fighting for his life against the ocean's currants, was it words that saved him? No! Words couldn't have done anything. It was his own physical strength that made him be able to reach the shore. Though he gets upset and angry easily, he rarely yells. The only times that he does are when he reaches his breaking point, but it takes a lot to get him there. Instead, when he's filled with rage or even just sadness, he will be completely silent. It'll take a few hours for him to be able to speak again, but once he does, his words will rush out in an unstructured rant. But what if his anger was directed towards a specific cat? Someone who did something truely unforgivable? Questduel is extremely vengeful, so in that case, he'd not rest until their life became a living nightmare. Questduel, despite being an over-planner, is extremely impulsive, and he'll frequently abandon his plans if his own selfish needs or the needs of his family interfere with what he'd originally planned to do. This leads to a confusing mix of not quite being able to tell what he'll do next, but at the same time always knowing that it'll still have at least some of his predictability, especially since he commonly overuses plans if they work well enough. Along with being impulsive, Questduel easily jumps to conclusions about almost anything, which only further fuels the anger that he feels. Most of his conclusions are aimed towards cats that he isn't close to, as he's naturally skeptical of them. Although he doesn't actively try to be, Questduel can at times come off as being charming. Wether that be by using honorifics, having a general sense of at least trying to be respectful towards high ranks, or one of the million other reasons is unknown. But what is known is that Questduel is a flirt. He'll flirt with practically everyone he sees, even if he isn't actually interested in the cats he's flirting with. And while he would never intentionally try and break someones heart, sometimes things just can't be avoided. After getting into a relationship, he feels pressure to immediately break up with them. He usually does so about a few weeks, or even days, after they start dating. Questduel generally tries his best to befriend cats, making sure to give them a fair chance before deciding if he likes them or not - unless, of course, they do something he cannot stand. That being said, sometimes his bluntness and outspoken nature instead makes him be the one to leave a bad first impression. Though Questduel might not care for his friends as strongly as he cares for his family and closer friends, he does one day wish to have a good amount of cats he knows who are on positive terms with him. For safety reasons, at the very least. Art: @Zollvaix-
