The most accurate MS-DOS replica, AND the only MS-DOS replica that has a file system! CHAPTER 3: Troubleshooting Unable to boot errors: Unable to boot: Error 1 - oper.sys not found This happens because oper.sys is not in the sos folder. Go into the project, drag a "replace item [1] in [desktop] with [thing] block into the project. change [desktop] into [sos], and replace [thing] with oper.sys. Now just press the green flag! Unable to boot: Error 2 - Invalid command interpreter. This happens because command.exe is not in the sos folder. Go into the project, and drag a "replace item [1] in [desktop] with [thing] block into the project. Double click [1], press backspace, type in 3, change [desktop] into [sos], and replace [thing] with command.exe. Now just press the green flag! Unable to boot: Error 3 - Unknown error We don't know why this happens. Go inside the project, look at the desktop and sos list, and comment on their contents. Then, repeat the steps for errors 1 and 2. Failed to recognize system disk Repeat steps for errors 1 and 2. Other errors: System halted, Error 4: Couldn't load command interpreter Repeat steps for error 2. Couldn't open file, Error 5: File is blank There is no way around this. The 'add' command only exists for troubleshooting. Specifically... ALERT! visual.dll is missing. Boot up the OS, type in opnf sos, type in add, and then type in visual.dll or visual. To return to the OS, type in back twice. CHAPTER 4 - NIGHTLY BUILDS (REMIXES) I won't stop you if you don't follow all of these (unless you change or add nothing), but i would highly recommend following these 'rules' if you want to remix. - The two words 'Nightly Build' must be in the title somewhere. Doesn't matter where you put it, or if it's the only two words. - You must say what you changed. This is the one i mind the least, but i would just appreciate if you did this. - CREDIT'S DUE WHERE CREDIT'S DUE. You MUST credit me if you remix this. The Creative Commons license even says it. - You must change or add something. Self-explanatory. CHAPTER 5: COMMANDS help = Offers a list of commands. wipe = Gets rid of all text on the screen. dir = Offers a directory listing on whatever page you're on. opnf = Opens a certain folder on whatever page you're on. Example: opnf sos back = Exits the folder you're currently in. erase = Deletes a file on whatever page/folder you're on. deltree = Deletes EVERYTHING on the page you're on. add = Creates a file on whatever page/folder you're on. shutdown = Asks to confirm shutdown, and then shuts down.
