Despite this, she was able to see quite well. She was taken aback at the lavishness of what surrounded her. The bedroom was as large as Carly's rented apartment! Her head spun in disbelief as her eyes settled on rows and rows of elegant dresses, accessories, and jewelry. "Who... are... y-you?" she murmured, in a trance. "My Lady. I am Lucy, your personal maid. Have you forgotten?" where. am. i. Carly stood up and walked to a mirror. She looked at her reflection in shock. Her ragged black-gray hair was gone, replaced with a lively brown, curly look. She almost gasped at her impeccable complexion. Was this really her? It seemed familiar in a sense. Who could this be? Carly looked down. "..." "Lady Celine? Are you alright?" She looked up again, face wilted in horror and disbelief. "C-celine..." she whispered, eyes wide open, shining from the reflection of the candle. It couldn't be. that stvpld 5 cents. the bus crash. did she really have to be reincarnated, out of all people, as the villain of the novel? "M-my Lady, y-you're going t-to be late f-for--..." Lucy tried to speak but was interrupted by trumpets blaring from out the window. Celine dashed over and peered at what was happening below. "d a r n..." she muttered. "w-what did you say, My Lady? s-sorry... i didn't catch it." Lucy stuttered. Celine's mind was racing. Welcome to the Duchy of Artemis, ruled by the Duke Jax Artemis. Jax Artemis. The widly-loved duke with fame following him on all sides. The duke with a single son. And that son was Helix Artemis. The male lead of the story. The one who would execute Celine, the marchioness, in the near future. And the trumpets blaring were a sign that the New Year's Festival would commence. The festival that also marked the start of the novel. ෆ "No. It can't be." Lucy had already exited the room and now Celine was pacing around her room, grasping her hair. "Wait.. but if i'm in the story, i can change fate, right? "...
