Long ago, before time itself existed and before the earth was conceived, an ancient race of warriors existed. These warriors were known as Celestials. The Celestials all had different categories, based on the power they possessed. The Elemental Celestials were the least powerful of these beings, yet more powerful than any human could wish to be. They possessed the powers of the elements, Water, Earth, Air, Lightning, Life, Fire, and Ice. The most powerful Elemental Celestials were the Fire and Ice Celestials, especially when they are put together. The next best Celestials were the Balance Celestials. There were only two Balance Celestials, Dark and Light. The Dark Celestial was a vicious monster, bent on power and evil. The heart of all darkness in our world. The Light Celestial was the exact opposite, and brought peace and balance to the world. Then, there were the Maximum Elementals, who possessed powers too powerful for any mortal being to use alone. The powers were as follows, in order of strength: Time, Space, Energy, Life, Death and Starlight. The Time and Space Celestials are self explanatory, they can travel through time and space respectively, with no consequences or paradoxes able to exist afterwards. The Energy Celestial is able to alter the flow of energy in the world, changing it as they please. The Life Celestial brings life wherever they go, while the Death Celestial brings death and destruction. The Starlight Celestial was beyond this, however. It granted the power of the stars to whoever it pleased, granting wishes and giving powers. It was because of the Starlight Celestial that other Celestials exist. After 3,000 years, the Dark Celestial put a curse upon one of the humans on earth, causing him to be filled with evil and hatred. He conquered an entire army by himself, and dominated earth as a whole for 89 years. After this time, he found an ancient scroll that described the curse he had. It was sent down by the Starlight Celestial, in hopes that he would become good again. But, seeing this scroll only gave him the knowledge that he didn’t have every living thing bowing down to him. The Dark Celestial saw this, and realized that they could take it one step further. They used their power on the Space Celestial, and forced them to give some of their power to the man. The Dark Celestial did not realize what Celestial he had used until it was too late. The man had found out what happened, and used the portal to get to Sotovin, the home of all Celestials. The Celestials were not expecting this, and they were easily defeated. After one Celestial dies, they drop a crystal form of their pure power. This allows a human to break the mortal barrier one time and survive death. Using this, the man managed to kill the mortal Celestials. The Fire and Ice Celestials were the last of the Elemental Celestials, and used their powers not to defeat the human, but to send all of the other elements out of him. This took all of their power, killing them both. They dropped their crystals, and in a final, desperate attempt to leave the man powerless, they cast them to earth, so that they might have the same fate as the other crystals. It was a beautiful summer day outside, school had just gotten out and 13 year old Preston Bruderer was getting ready to go hang out with his cousin. He walked the usual route, going through a small, yet thick, forest. On his way, he noticed a slight orange glow in a bush. He ignored it and just called it a mirage. Not too long after, he ended up at his cousin, Gage’s, house. “Hey, what’s up?” He asked, getting comfortable in a chair by the window. “Nothing much. How have you been?” “Pretty good.” After a while, he decided to head home. He saw the same glow in the same place as last time, but this time he decided to go check it out. It was a rock, about the size of a small apple. He went to pick it up, but before he could, he heard shuffling behind him. Someone was behind him. He turned around, and saw Gage standing there. “Hey, look at this!” Preston said, gesturing to the glowing rock. “What is it?” Gage asked, looking at the swirling effect in the rock. “I have no idea.” He started reaching for the crystal, when Gage saw another. This one was blue, and about as big as the orange one, but it wasn’t glowing as much. He went to pick it up, and when their fingers touched the crystals, their eyes started glowing, matching the color of the crystals. Then, a crystal of the opposite color shot into the other hand of both boys, causing their right eyes to be blue and left eyes to be orange. They were in an immense state of pain, unable to feel anything else until they both dropped on the floor, unconscious.
Preston woke up first, and for a moment he forgot how he got there. He studied his surroundings, then felt a stabbing pain in his forehead. He reached up to rub it, and saw that his hand was glowing blue. He looked at his other hand, and saw it was glowing orange. Then, he heard a noise as Gage got up. He took one look at Preston and realized he looked the same. Preston helped him up, and they looked at their hands, and noticed that each other's eye colors changed to match their arms. Then, they realized that their clothes were different, too. They were wearing the same things; Preston, a worn gray hoodie with a design on the back, dark gray pants and sneakers; Gage, a black jacket with a t-shirt,jeans and a pair of light gray shoes. Both of their pairs of shoes gained a slight glow, and the designs on them now matched the colors of their arms and eyes. The design on the back of Preston’s hoodie changed to the same colors, too, and also changed to a dragon. Their hoods had an outline of blue and orange, too.
