Much language nerdery here, I hope you enjoy! (And maybe learn something new). I spent most of my time while making this, questioning grammar in my native language :P Instructions are in-game. ↓ Scroll down for more ↓ The aim of this project was to try out the (sort-of!) new text-to-speech feature. It's not my best coding effort by a long way but hopefully it is educational :) I've tried to choose words that do not exist in more than one language (eg. "ember" which means vastly different things in English vs Hungarian, or "небо" which means the same thing in Russian and Ukrainian) - please let me know though if there are any that I've mistakenly included. What's your native language? Do you have any fun facts about it to share? Leave a comment! Please ❤ and ⭐ if you liked it :)
Note: I have removed the articles from nouns in romance languages for the express purpose of it not being a certain giveaway that they are romance languages ;) (eg. l'océan would just appear as "océan" in French) Similarly German nouns are not capitalised. The audio files are a combination of the scratch text-to-speech feature, and recordings from google translate. I have tried, where possible, to verify the accuracy of these recordings. Hungarian, German, Russian and Spanish words are included/translated based on my knowledge. I have used google translate or a dictionary for the others. I'm keeping this project strictly to European languages, though of course today there are over 7000 languages spoken worldwide :)
